I picked up Madden this year only because I got it for $36, and because a couple of friends picked it up and I'd like to play online with them.  That said, EA should be embarrassed selling this even for $36.  Except for some very minor tweaks, it's the same game, and even the presentation is essentially the same.

I would like anyone who defends the game due to gameplay to step forward and say why it's better than '06.

the last one i purchased was 05. i was given 06 as a gift last year.

i liked the passing cone, but it wasnt worth the purchase. i dont know if i will buy 07 right away. although i am thinking about getting the Nintendo Wii, and probably that version of 07. apparently, Madden 07 for the new nintendo sys was outsouced to another company through EA and built 100% from the ground up...

I wasn't impressed with Madden '06 and so that made me not really care too much about '07.  I mean... should I really go out and buy this game because I get a chance to use my O-lineman as a lead blocker?  I'm not in a hurry to buy it, if I buy it at all.  The people that I know that have played it told me I'm not missing much.

I played NCAA '07 this weekend.  It's a pretty good game.  I'm not sure it's good enough to make me stop playing '06 and buy it, but it's close.  The momentum thing is good, the special teams plays are good, the new camera angles on returns are cool.  A couple of problems for me:  it's incredibly easy to pass and, unless i missed it, they took away the hot option for running plays.

My friend and I have bought Madden every year since somewhere inception. We build and use fantasy teams and use these teams against each other and pile up stats. No need to buy the new one if we use fantasy teams anyways. I'll keep reading everyone's reviews. Plus I can't stand Shaun Alexander.

I'll pick it up eventually.  Probably in a month when the rosters have been altered.  I liked 06 a lot and wouldn't expect all that much to change considering it's footbal.  Unless you're looking for an MTV Rock N' Jock 67 point field goal shot from the sideline.  Minor changes is all they really need to do from year to year.

For those that have NCAA on the 360, Madden is pretty much EXACTLY the same gameplay wise except that you are playing with NFL teams obviously, and the NCAA slowdowns are replaced with quick freezes before you break the huddle.

I bought it this year because it's the first year I'll be playing it for the 360. I didn't buy 06 for the 360 last year because it was rushed.

But next year, they won't leave out as many mistakes, because they'll want the PS3 owners to get it for the PS3 over the PS2.

i heard they have a dive over the pile for short yardage situations now...anyone see this for 07?

I have seen it. You can also get hit in mid air and flip over. It's a pretty cool animation.

Avant was on my team for the 360. Gaither and others were in free agency.

Played the 360 version the other day of '07. Playability sucks ass. Graphics may be great....but the playing that thing is as fun as sticking a knife under my fingernails...slowly.

I'll pass and stick to '06.
