Agreed.  3 dots..third quarter.  Easy.  But they should use bloody pentagrams instead.

That idea might fly in that league Mo Clarett is joining.

Quote# Terrorists in "final stages" of the bomb plot were planning dry run, U.S. government sources say
# British agent infiltrated terror cell and tipped authorities to move in, U.S. says

From CNN.com's home page.

If these two things are true, then why the farg are they causing all the craziness at airports?

I have an explanation, but the conservatives may want to look away at this point...

If the citizens aren't terrorized, how can the government conduct a war on terror?  If they aren't inconvenienced to the point of being pissed off, how can the hawks rally support for their causes?  How can a country go to war against a people its citizens have no animosity for?

Since I previously was on an airplane 4-6 times/month, I recently changed jobs so I could spend more time with my family.  Coincidentally, that change required me to relocate to Canada.  Now I'm thinking I'm picking up some fringe benefits I hadn't realized:

  • I'm not travelling any more, so I don't have to be anally raped like the rest of the sheep at the airport.
  • I'm no longer living in a police state
  • I'm on the right side of the border if and when Rumsfeld starts waving lists of known US terrorist sympathizers

I'm working on my application for permanent residency, and came across this question:
QuoteY/N:  Have you...been associated with a group that used, uses, advocated, or advocates the use of armed struggle or violence to reach political, religious or social objectives?

How is a US citizen supposed to answer that question?

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

the chance of being killed by a terrorist is less than possibly any cause of death in the history of man

So first the shoe bomber makes it so we all have to take off our shoes before boarding the plane. Now liquid bombs mean that all your shampoo and shtein like that will have to blow up in your checked baggage. So what happens when someone smuggles a bomb up his ass? Everyone gets a finger swipe?

It does seem to be overly dramatic doesn't it...

They had a man on the inside, they admit the dudes were preparing for a dry run, and they've got a ton of them in custody.  The threat originated in England, and involved only flights from there to the U.S.

So why are millions of people suffering ridiculous delays and costs in every fargin' airport in the country?  There is NO reason someone in Kansas City should have to surrender his water bottle.  It's nothing short of state sponsored hysteria.

just heard a good report that the local airports have settled down considerably.  my flight is at 7 p.m., so I'm hopeful that over the next few hours, things will continue to clear up.  I'm bringing no carry on and no liquids, hoping to make the stupid security ordeal as short as possible.

Oh, I get it.  Well, instead of having the white circles filled in with yellow for the quarter - they should just have the number of circles (in white or yellow or whatever) visible to represent the quarter.

I guess just having "2nd" to represent the quarter is played out.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
