the sad thing about it is that i don't think it ever will actually bite them in the ass.  at least not in regards to players considering on signing/resigning with the eagles or not.

at first i was thinking that free agents, especially those in the 26-28 yr old range would be very hesitant to sign with the eagles because it's pretty much a known fact that they'll be released long before their contract runs out.  but players and agents know that anything beyond the 2nd or 3rd year of a contract probably won't be paid out anyway.  so they'll still sign a deal, get caked off with a fat signing bonus and then a few years later, they'll be released and free to sign elsewhere, where they will again get caked off with another signing bonus.

so while their business practices are shrewed and cold blooded, they won't scare off players or their agents and therefore, won't have any serious impact in their ability to put a competetive team on the floor.  the only thing their business practices do is piss off fans.  but as long as the stadium is full on sundays, the front office won't give a damn what the fans think.

We can only hope that their two starting recievers and star runningback decide to test free agency the same year their quarterback retires.

The man. The myth. The legend.

The perception that the Eagles are the only team that does it is also an incorrect one.

Are you talking about the same game...opening kickoff which led to a quick duce staley touchdown run up the middle?

The only other time I matched a howl was when DeSean caught the t.d. to go up for a moment in this past NFCCG

yup...loudest and craziest eagle stadium ive ever seen was after the mitchell return and ive been gping to bird games since the 80's...duce went like 20 yards on the next play for a td and it was like nothing happened compared to how the place was after the mitchell return...absolute bedlem

think ive said this on the board before but carolina is my own personal worst loss ever...i literally cried on the way home in the car which my girl to this day doesnt let me forget...but in a general sense and when taking into everything that came with it that tampa loss is arguably the worst in philly history for any sport

shtein, one of my 'good friends' decided to get married that day, the day of the Carolina game.

I didn't even get to channel my energy into that game.

May he one day rot in hell.

Yeah, but you know, I think I still would have wanted to witness my own death.

It's just weird to know that....the Eagles were in 5 NFC championship games in 9 seasons...missed one because of a potential zesty set of calls near the goal line and a false start in New Orleans.

I know almost doesn't count...but god damn.

My football load is going to bust like Hiroshima when this team decides to win one.

I just can't wait until years and years from now when watching NFL films or something...and it starts with, "No other team in NFL History other than the Philadelphia Eagles (insert shameful statistic here)..."
