Steve Smith busted up his shoulder pretty badly and is going to miss two weeks minimum. The Panthers are being quiet about the details.

The Panthers play the Eagles in the opener.

Favre on his way to sign with the Vikings per profootballtalk.com, who is getting their info from WISN-TV in Milwaukee. This should knock the national attention off of Vic and the Eagles for a while.
