Had McCain appeared that human at all during his campaign, I've got to believe this would have been much closer. Probably helped somewhat that he wasn't babysitting Palin.

Palin was nothing if not human. Too much so for most people who can think their way out of a paper bag. McCain on the other hand never looked comfortable during this campaign.

Palin was a caricature, and was worse than McCain and his awkwardness. There wasn't an ounce of true personality between the two of them, and I have to assume his classiness was relief at never having to deal with that crazy bitch again.
