How would Democrats nominating their most conservative candidate equate to them finding "their balls?"

I'm worried about both and I don't see how arming myself with a few commercially available firearms will help deal with either problem.  Herr Trump sends his goons into the street after a loss...and what, I'm gonna go shoot at them?  Hell no.  That's what the National Guard is for.  If the Guard isn't sent out to deal with them, then my opponent isn't just the deplorables, it's the State...against whom I have zero opportunity to defend myself should they turn their gaze my way.

By be prepared to fight, I guess what I mean is, be prepared to die.

i'd say it's more a case of them needing to find their brains.

Obviously they need to take charge of this situation by strongly adhering to the status quo.

Long story short, I agree with Todd. Bernie has just as much a chance as any of the other candidates to win, and there's a strong case to be made he gives you the best chance because of the enthusiasm he'll generate. I'd also say it's more like 50/50 at this point, and I'm only saying that because of some of the positive polling numbers trump got this past week. If he drops back down in approval, I'd give the Dem nominee the edge.

Bernie has no shot of beating Trump. The right will throw the S word around whoever the Dem nominee is but in Bernies case they actually have a point. He has a strong base but beyond that he generates no enthusiasm. I wish he wasn't running so his stubborn supporters would back the Dem nominee. This election has zero to do with anything other than defeating Trump.

Bernie probably has the best shot at beating Trump because he has the best shot of not coming off like another corrupt politician to the white union workers in the Midwest. He's also almost certain to pick a POC running mate, and has made more overtures to Hispanic voters than anyone in the race, giving him a shot in Arizona.

There's a reason why he polls just as good, if not better, than Biden against Trump in all these polls. If he's the nominee, you'll see young voters at near 2008 levels.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Lol right? Imagine thinking the best response to running and losing with HRC in 2016 is "let's do everything the same!"

I say that even admitting that Biden would almost also definitely be favored. But let's not pretend hes just as in danger of being ratfarged by disinformation as "just another corrupt politician" as Bernie is in danger of being painted as "too far left" for some suburban white people.

(Also my hot take on the suburbs flipping is that it has more to do with the millennials are slowly increasing their population in the suburbs and less that old right wing Republican suburbanites are suddenly reliable Dem voters for a moderate)

Biden isn't female.  There's 10% plus right there.  Add the "she's not Hillary CLINTON" and there another five.

Bernie is a cranky northeastern Jew.  Does anyone seriously believe blacks will vote for him in droves even if another four years of Trump is the alternative?

You guys are kidding yourselves.  This is over.   Trump is INCREASING his base despite being a despicable, traitorous coward.   There's no remedy for that.  Sorry but there isn't.

Munson

Uhh, Bernie would do just fine with black voters. He's already eating into Biden's lead there and there's no reason to think they'll somehow find him less trustworthy as a candidate than Criminal Justice Reform Joe.

Anyway...everyone here needs to read this extremely long story and think about some of the digital ads your Facebook has been showing you.

Democrats can't get votes counted and the president and his gaggle of thugs is actively engaged in conspiracies to silence journalists.

Yeah, things are great.  No worries.

Rome

And "just fine" won't cut it, Munson.  The idiot who ends up running against Trump will need a massive turnout because a narrow victory will not be enough to oust Trump.

The only way he's leaving the White House is feet first.  Mark my words, kid.  This is going to the mattresses.

Munson

Well no one is going to get the black vote out specifically in large enough numbers to turn a small victory into a large victory. But he's almost certain to select a POC
VP which will give a boost.

But yeah i have no illusions of Trump taking a loss graciously, to say the least. It's going to get ugly.

bernie won, or essentially won the caucus because he had loads of socialist nerds who went bused and flew in and canvassed in neighborhoods and communities nobody else went into. bosnian, moldovian, macedonian, etc. there is a bosnian muslim community in cedar. they went and got votes out of there. this is the kind of thing hes going to do across mi-pa-wi. find voters who were never part of the process and who will respond to his message.

biden lost voters to an unqualified gay mayor from south bend. turnout with him would be LOW as low can be.

im going full pundit here which i hate but as rancid as the bernie bros are and as unappealing as he might be at the top of the ticket to a lot of well to do suburban white women...i dont see a scenario where any other person can match the enthusiasm gap. and thats the game. you have to have someone people are pumped to vote for.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The Cult of Bernie is going to farg the election up. They'll take their ball and stay home if Bernie doesn't get the nomination.

Blame the enthusiastic voters, who will farg it up when we nominate a candidate for these unenthusiastic voters.
