This, btw, is why the "just run the super moderate guy and you'll win" logic is faulty. It depends on you getting those racist white voters back that you lost to Trump. They're not coming back, though. You need to replace them with young and educated voters.

Long story short, I agree with Todd. Bernie has just as much a chance as any of the other candidates to win, and there's a strong case to be made he gives you the best chance because of the enthusiasm he'll generate. I'd also say it's more like 50/50 at this point, and I'm only saying that because of some of the positive polling numbers trump got this past week. If he drops back down in approval, I'd give the Dem nominee the edge.

this is the problem with having a super diverse party, but in terms of socioeconomic background and political spectrum placement. there are no cool handsome black guys walking through that door, so you need someone with an enthusiasm match for trump. thats only bernie.

bernie is going to lose a lot of people. but hes going to bring a ton of new people into the process. if he gets his voters out, he can do it. but its 100% on the campaign to do that. they need to register high school/college kids and locate people detached from the process and bring them in. there are more than enough to offset whatever richie rich suburban money grubbers he scares away.

what bernie will do to the party in 3 years in the midterms is a different story. step 1: kill trump.

Though I think I've decided that clanTrump's strategy isn't trying to get Bernie nominated - it's trying to convince the Bernie people there's another conspiracy against him, so that a portion of Bernie's faction stays home in November.

being a super duper humanist and definitely not one of the most patriotic people ever i cant believe im going to say this but what is most scary to me right now is not the rights hate and anger on social issues and a general lack of empathy for other human beings its their complete and utter contempt for the constitution, the rule of law, the degrading of our institutions....our whole farging democracy...trump is on a merciless warpath towards replacing patriotism with nationalism

and its so scary because in theory those are the things that make us different and are supposed to safeguard us from all the heinous shtein....once our government is fully eroded we are all completely farged

Bernie has no shot of beating Trump. The right will throw the S word around whoever the Dem nominee is but in Bernies case they actually have a point. He has a strong base but beyond that he generates no enthusiasm. I wish he wasn't running so his stubborn supporters would back the Dem nominee. This election has zero to do with anything other than defeating Trump.

Biden does absolutely nothing but he's the best bet to beat Trump. He'd bring a sense of normalcy back to the office and checks all the voters boxes. He's the old shoe you go back to after your new pair causes blisters. He'd win PA. The Dems need to find their balls.
