Also, to give you an idea of the weights I do...Day 1, Monday, of Phase one, my bench press will start with a 10 pound weight on each side, and I increase the weight by 5 pounds for each set. So by Day 11, the last Friday of Phase 1, my 3rd and final bench set should be 55 pounds on each side.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

10lb weights?

you'd get a better workout benching your guitar

So do I need to add anything?

I didn't see any exercises that involved offing yourself.  Should only need 1 rep.  Add that and you'll be good.

for one set....then it's 15, then 20...then on friday it's 15, 20, 25...etc. When you're doing 33-35 reps, it does it's job. I'm not the icehole in the gym looking to max out my bench every time I'm there.

Only if it's not one of those cry for help reps....then it might take more.

So I'm back in the gym and am struggling to remember my old workout routine. I think I have most of the exercises, but I  believe I'm missing one or two lifts, especially on Monday/Friday. Figured I'd ask some of you super duper experts what you think I might need to add. I wanna say that I think it ignores my shoulders a little bit, so maybe add an upright bench? Or am I ignoring my legs too much by assuming squats and calf raises are all I need?
Squats and calves aren't enough for legs, unless you don't have hamstrings. Deadlift so you can eliminate one of your two rows on M/F and considering what you're doing, it should be enough hamstrings for you too. If you're at a loss for what to do at the gym the answer is almost always deadlift.

If you're benching every other day you won't need to do front delts at all, just do lateral raises, reverse flies and facepulls.

Ah yes, facepulls. I love facepulls. And backpushes. And hamsmacks.

Also, I just started going back to the gym after a couple of weeks of hiatus and it farging sucks just like I remembered. farg this.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

I google'd those to see if they are real things. They are not.

I'm thinking of just replacing the front squats on Wednesday with the dead lift...because farg front squats.

That site has some good info on it, I usually check out bodybuilding.com. when I have a question, they have a large online community there.

Check this guy out. That's pretty amazing.

General_Failure

The last two years or so I was going to the gym with one or both of my sisters without any real plan, just lifting things in sets of ten whenever the vultures stop circling a machine, and then a half hour to an hour on the treadmill or bike. Didn't accomplish much, since I'd go three times one week and then not be able to go for a month.

Now that I'm all set up down here with a fake bowflex and stationary bike in the enclosed porch dealie and a tiny-ass pool in the yard, I'm pulling big rubber bars in sets of ten and pedaling fake miles every day. Still no plan beyond not dying at 40, which so far seems like an achievable goal. So far, so good. I at least feel like less of a sack of shtein, especially since I stopped wearing sweatpants out in the 80+ degree heat to work out and following it up with a nice hot shower in a poorly ventilated bathroom.
