Phils win 11-6

Expect Utley, Howard and Gordon to be named to the All-Star team tonight  :yay

Rome

None of them deserve it.

Three players from a team like that making the All Star Squad is ludicrous.

I don't care what type of individual accomplishments they've attained.  The Phillies suck and all the players on the team, even those who are having stand-out seasons statisically speaking, are collectively at fault for that.

MDS

Utley is the best 2nd basemen in baseball. Only he deserves to go. Howard is awsome, but the team sucks and he has about 10 cbp homers this year.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

Let me repeat this... I don't care about personal accomplishments.  The Phillies have been a total bust this year.  As a team, the Phillies sucked more cock than Jenna Jameson after an eight ball of coke and a bottle of Jack Daniel's.

None of them deserve to go to the All Star game because their team hasn't accomplished anything other than becoming the most overpaid collection of stiffs in the Major Leagues.

Gordon, Utley and Howard have all had stellar years thus far statistically speaking, however, having three players represent the Phillies after their team has sucked so utterly this season is a joke, IMO.

Edited - you're not worth it.

Three players from a 37-44 team made it to an All-Star team.

Yeah, they deserve it.

A 4th is possible.  Abreu is one of the five possibilities for the 32nd person....

Then tell us all why those three players stats don't make them worthy of the team?

Damn, there goes the rest of his season.

He'll probably win the HRD. And then tank the rest of the year.

And Romey, an All-Star game is all about personal achievements. All three of those guys deserve to go.

i'm not worth it?  i'm crushed.

how can you not understand the concept of an all-star game?  it's the best players from the 1st half of the season.  not the best players on the best teams.  the Phillies are awful, no doubt, but each of the players chosen have had very good to great first halves.  all three deserve it and for you to say otherwise because of the team's record is just plain stupid.
