Baseball is a team game.  The team that they play for has been a crushing failure.

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

I already acknowledged that statistically speaking, they're all having good years.  However, I think it's ridiculous that three (possibly even four) players from a team that has gone 37-44 in the first half of the season make an all-star team.

I don't think my position is stupid at all.  I think that it's a reasonable position to take considering what the team has accomplished over the course of the first three months of this season.

As for you, Mo, I don't know why you think it's necessary to attack me personally every time you disagree with something I've posted.  If you have a difference of opinion, try stating it without resorting to acting like an eight year-old.

how have i attacked your personally?  if me calling you an ass is a personal attack to you, then you have the sensitivites of a woman.  but why, why would i have a problem with you directly?  i dunno, maybe because when i challenge you on your opinions on this board and explore you're flawed logic, you run and hide until I am on the EMB and then use your mod powers to get back at me?  maybe that has something to do with it?  i dunno, i'm just guessing.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

the mets are having a great year as a team.  julio franco should totally be an all-star.

I have no idea what you're referring to with respect to the Eagles Message Board.

You're obviously confused about something and if you have a question about something that has occured on that board, then I suggest you take it up with me there or take it up with me via PM here.  The people who run this board have made it all too clear that the goings-on there are not to be discussed here.

As for what I was referring to in my last post, I meant that every time I post something, you have some sort of idiotic comment or insult directed my way.  Personally, I think it's a waste of your time to do so.  I have nothing against you and have only responded with insults your way when you've provoked me first.

I won't do that any longer.  That's why I said you're not worth it.  You simply aren't.

BTW: Do you care to discuss the Phillies having three all-stars despite having a losing record in the first half?  If so, I'd be more than willing to do so in a mature, reasoned way.

They have six all-stars already.  Although I think Wagner might get the nod in the fan ballot.

oh, ok, i insult you, but saying "You're not worth it" is not an insult to me?

k, thanks for the clarifiation.  and i'm sorry that you get upset by my posting style, but when i see such dumb things being said, it calls for a harsh response.  but that being said, the things you are complaining about are tame in nature, for you to get upset with it is just ridiculous.  grow a sack and stop whining about my "personal attacks".

and please, don't be naive in respect to the other thing, i know what you did.

What I said wasn't dumb.  You disagreed with my reasoning and that's fine.  You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine regarding this issue.

What needs to be left out of the equation is the idiotic personal attacks.  I've deliberately tried my best to forget past squabbles in this forum because I'm here mostly to discuss the Eagles.  It's almost impossible to get any decent discussions going on the other message board, so that's why I'm here.

Yeah, I'll post in the other subforums because it's a boring time of the offseason but do you honestly think it's necessary to go after me specifically every time I post something you disagree with?

That's just the absolute apex of stupidity to me.

JTrotter Fan

Saying those three players don't deserve to play in a game that is devoted to the best statistical players in the first half of the season is stupid.  You don't understand the concept of an All-Star game obviously.  Noone cares about how their team is playing except you.  It's not about their teams.  Get over yourself.
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

Rome

Except participation in the game isn't entirely predicated on statistical achievements.

If it were, half the starters wouldn't be starting and a player like Mark Redman wouldn't even be invited in the first place.

SunMo

ok, we get it, you don't think anybody except players on 1st place teams should've made the all-star game.  we get it.

way to take a stand man, what would we do with out you?

LOL.  I never said that or inferred it.

I'll say it again:

Three players from a 37-44 team are being rewarded for their individual achievements in a team game.

And let's not forget that two of them have had their share of problems this year (Howard has been a butcher in the field and they both still strike out way too much with guys in scoring position).

That said, all three individually deserve to go based on what they've done but collectively they don't because of the sad state of the team they play on.

Is it really that difficult to differentiate between the two?  And no, I'm not attacking anyone here.  I'm simply asking a question.

as phillies fans, it's sometimes easy to forget that there are playoffs for for when a lot of players collectively succeed on one team.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Just saw on ESPN that the Phils signed #1 pick Kyle Drabek.

ETA for first arm surgery:  2007.
