You are right in the aspect that supply and demand should drive the market. However, you need to keep in mind that these NFL owners are having their rights trampled on. They put hundreds of millions of dollars, of their fortunes at risk to reap these hefty returns. The US government should issue Letters of Marque to the Chinese government to combat these copyright Pirates.

Oh give me a break NFL owners are raking in money left and right. Lurie bought the Eagles for $175 million (a record for a franchise at the time) in the early/mid 90's and now the Eagles are worth over $1 Billion. That's not including what he makes yearly from TV rights/concessions/tickets/parking etc. Every NFL owner is doing well even though we're practically in a depression. $200 for a jersey is highway robbery whatever way you slice it, I remember buying a jersey with sticker patches in the late 80's for $20, why is it quadruple the price now?

lol lurking weirdo is one of those guys that believes the rich getting richer while the middle class' income stayed the same or lowered during the latest recession is completely okay and natural and the way it should be, and there's no funny business going on there.. He's not going to get what you're trying to say.

He's fighting for the rights of guys that have billions of dollars to spend to pay someone to fight for their rights. But if you try to fight for the rights of the people that generally don't have a loud enough voice or the power to do so, than you're a "leftist agenda pusher.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

They risked their money when investing it. They should be able tro reap the rewards. If you don't agree, you should not buy the merchandise.

Also, as has been more or less pointed out, one of the staples of the American economy over the last 25-50 years has been to take something, and find a cheaper way to produce it, almost always sacrificing quality in the process. How is this any different? Because they wanted to monopolize jersey sales? Meh, too bad for them.

lurking wierdo

No, you have a choice to not buy the preseason games.

rjs246

Pretty sure that season ticket holders don't have that choice.

Munson

No, they do not. A season ticket holder is charged for 8 regular season games + 2 preseason games

You don't have to buy health insurance.  You can pay the fine instead.  Your choice.  America, love it or leave it.
