I'm sold. I need to go get a knockoff Vick jersey right now.

I think l_w might need to untwist the knickers a tad.

That is absolutely the nicest possible way that message could be conveyed.  Impressive.

What's next for Google now that they've conquered most of the internets? Beatboxing.

So, it's okay to buy counterfeit goods if you can fine them?

as long as it's in lot C6.

Err...I don't even own a current players jersey. The closest I get to stealing is pirating music, and you know what? The RIAA deserves it after charging me 25 dollars for a CD that cost 2 dollars to make. Thank god they finally realized they can't rob people blind anymore and most CDs are in the 8-15 dollar range.

That being said, I still buy the albums of my favorite bands, in some cases twice, since I like to have both the album art/lyrics booklet, and the bonus tracks that come with the iTunes-only buy. And I've bought other songs by other bands that I never would have listened to otherwise if it weren't for piratebay.org, or kazaa and grokster and limewire back in the day. I also support a few local bands and I'll buy a million of their CD's before I'd give a penny of my money to the RIAA if I could.

Anyway, your argument was completely retarded and I don't know why I bothered responding. I'm not really sure what point, at all, you were trying to make. I guess pointing out the very well known fact that things are not "all equal" for people across the board is the same as defending Rebok and Nike from the big bad evil jersey website. Definitely the same thing, and I should champion both causes. Got it.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

People wouldn't buy counterfeit jerseys if the prices of the real ones were reasonable. $80 for a jersey with sticker patches and $200 for an authentic is a complete ripoff, especially when those jerseys cost $20 a piece to make/market/employees/transportation etc. Not only that but the players jersey you buy could be gone in a season or two. Licensing is a fine American way to make money but that doesn't mean you have to rip the consumers off.

That's one reason I've never bought one. I buy caps, sweatshirts, tees etc. but the jerseys are ridiculous. And I'd be surprised if it actually takes them $20 to get it to market.

yep, if anything, it shows that these counterfeiters can sell them for 26bucks, and make a profit.

Your rationalization does not make it okay to steal. The only way to fight it is a boycott. But no one has the stones to accomplish it.

Actually a better way is to buy knock-offs, consumers get cheap jerseys at reasonable prices, and it's obvious it's gotten their attention other wise homeland security wouldn't be involved and the site wouldn't be down. If they had just boycotted buying those jerseys do you think they'd notice? It's not like people were lining up to buy them...so instead they bought knock offs. Whenever a product that's in demand sets it's price too high people look for cheap alternatives.
