When I lived in Phoenixville they would have them every so often at the intersection of 23 and 113. As soon as you'd crest the small hill you could see them. However they would have cars sitting in parking lots where the turnoff was and if you dipped out they'd pull you over.

You been home recently? Was just up there on saturday for a bit to see the family, the high school and middle school are pretty much brand new buildings. The giant field that used to be next to the neighborhood is now taken up by school building.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I subbed for a social studies teacher and got to teach a "Theory of Knowledge" IB class today, it was pretty awesome. Would love to get paid to stand around and discuss things like "Are human beings rational animals?" with 17 year olds. It was the IB program so the kids were pretty damn smart. Still had some teenaged viewpoints on things though so it was an interesting discussion.

Yeah I was there in December. My sister goes to to the school so I was shocked to see how t changed.

That town went from blue collar to yuppie quick.

Munson

haha I don't know if I'd call it yuppie just yet. But none of my family lives in the newer parts of town I guess so I wouldn't really know.

Its definitely yuppie...has been trending that way for several years now. The drug companies over in Oaks and a lot of new businesses in Great Valley have transformed the area. The downtown area by The Colonial proves it along with the property value. Places on my mom's street are going for $200k and they're 1950's places.

Don't get me wrong - the place still has its dumpy areas but its loaded with Volvo station wagon driving, lacrosse playing folk now.

Geowhizzer

Happening all over that area.  Last time I got into Honey Brook, I noticed that it had a brand new golf club, and a whole bunch of cookie-cutter housing developments where farmland used to be when I was growing up.

They really cleaned up Bridge St, too.  Gave everything a facelift, put in some decent bars and restaurants.  Looks like a little Manayunk or something.  My pops lived on Railroad St for years, which was a shtein hole of a street that ran right up to the tracks.

I had to drive down Bridge St. while I was there and you're right, it definitely seems like the town is a little bit more alive

If so, he should send it to Havas.  Would probably help with the mice.
