this is terrific. some douche was acting like a douche and got knocked the farg out. cheap shot or not it was well deserved.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Went out for a few beers tonight. Noticed there were a ton of cops out because it's St. Patty's Day. Had 4 beers in 2 hours. Wouldn't say I wasn't in good enough to condition to drive but I was probably over the limit. So I take a back route and sure enough there's a DUI checkpoint. I see it up ahead, make a quick u turn (which is legal btw) and park my car in a nearby complex. Call my buddy to come get me and avoid the head ache.

Haha... That's some serious word weaseling, and I know of such things. ;-)

I treasure my drinking enough to avoid doing things that might bring too much attention to it.  For example, getting arrested for driving drunk.  What a farging disaster that would be, holy crap.  It scares me to think about it.

In the spirit of random: I had a dream last night that I met a cousin I'd never met before at a family reunion. He was a half-Chinese guy named Ho. After talking for a bit, he mentioned that he ran a prostitution ring that he marketed under the name of Ho's Ho's, which in the dream I thought was awesome. Then I woke up hoping that happens at the next reunion.

I was driving my buddy home once and missed the turn, and there was a DUI checkpoint ahead. I u-turned and made the turn to go down his street, and two cop cars followed me and pulled me over. Wasn't drinking at the time. You got lucky. Yeah the u-turn was legal, but if they were paying attention and saw you they probably would've pulled you over.

That's whats interesting about checkpoints.  They're entrapment unless they allow you to find another path.  So they legally have to let you turn away.  Which is why you rarely find them in chokepoints where they would be most effective.  Personally, I still feel that they're illegal, and are akin to racial profiling.  Stopping 1000 people to get 3 to me seems like a waste of resources where you'd most likely find those drunks under normal patrols

It's a reactionary tactic to public outcry/MADD to do something about drunk driving.  Most cops hate doing them as much as the public hates going through it.  Pretty big waste of money, manpower and resources, imo.

I'm all for keeping drunks off the roads, but I agree checkpoints are a huge waste of resources. I got caught up in a random check on a Tuesday at 5, because that's what I want to deal with after I worked all day. I asked the officer why my liberty was being hindered and he actually apologized and said it was his commanders call. I wrote a letter to my congressman in response.

I'll be the first to admit that I've driven when I've had too many, but last night I was completely fine. Legally I may have been slightly over the limit but I shouldn't be hauled off to jail and lose my license for being slightly over. They merged a bar down the street from me with a bar a few blocks away, so I had my buddy drop me off there to finish the night. It's about a mile walk to my house, about two blocks from the bar there were two cops arresting somebody for a DUI. They were out in force yesterday.

Anyone who is dumb enough to get behind the wheel after drinking on St Patty's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Turkey Day and NYE deserves to get stopped at a checkpoint.  Everyone knows that cops are out in full force and setting up checkpoints all over the place.

When I lived in Phoenixville they would have them every so often at the intersection of 23 and 113. As soon as you'd crest the small hill you could see them. However they would have cars sitting in parking lots where the turnoff was and if you dipped out they'd pull you over.

Seabiscuit36

To me, that's just shady.  They need a reason to pull you over, IE lights out/bullshtein no seatbelts/missing a stop sign.  Pulling someone over arbitrarily because you suspect something has to be some sort of infringement.
