World (Vegas) Travel Thread

was looking through a drawer a little while ago and randomly found a voucher for united airlines that expired this month. started typing in different places to use it. i am now going to costa rica tomorrow. anyone ever been?

i have no reservations for hotels or anything. going with a backpack and seeing what kind of trouble i can get into.

anyone ever been? never been to CR before. all i know is that it has amazing beaches and jungles...and lots of casinos and hookers.

My cousin goes big game deep sea fishing down there once a year and said that the touristy areas are nice. Good beer, good fresh seafood and a lot of hot chicks who like americans.

They spend a few days there living it up and then go into the bush up the coastline to villages where they hire fishing guides.

I have heard it's very cool down there.  Incredible surf and beautiful beaches.  Per J, I've heard the same about the chicks, they like gringos.  Supposed to be a very safe country.

Believability isn't important. Tucker Max and Maddox both have books out. 50 Shades of Grey is literally Twilight Fanfiction, but you can peel back the layers on zesty books for women for hundreds of years. The point is, you're not very good at writing so take a camera.

There is no one on earth less equipped to write about someone doing random self destructive farg-the-world's-expectation shtein than you. A journalist who cant write, doesn't like to read and has an awful sense of humor. Even suggesting your involvement is laughable.

I've heard great things about CR. Supposed to be friendly and educated and inexpensive with great beaches and people.  Currently #1 on the list of places for the lady friend and I to go this summer.

While visiting my sister for new years, I met one of her friends who spent Xmas in CR and she had nothing but rave reviews.  So it at least sounds like a great place to visit if you're a lesbian from Texas. 

Also, lol @ Todd for wanting to write a book about anything, much less trying to keep up with Matty.

The first thing that comes to mind re: Costa Rica...it's clean.  They value the environment much moreso than other places that could be just as beautiful if not for their ignorant lifestyle.

good news: stone cold out before takeoff....woken up with violent elbows two seconds before landing....landed at 9am went to the car passed out and other than the walk into the house this is the first time ive been awake since 7am....magic pills and brews ftw

I will not be in attendance.   First, I have a cold.  Bad.  Second, I have to work a car show Wed. thru Sun. and since we're right in the middle of our valuation period at the office, I'd have to literally cough up a lung at work to get tomorrow and Tuesday off too.  That's actually a possibility, though, which is nice.

Took squaw to Pittsburgh this weekend because I'm sucky boyfriend.  We just wanted to go someplace neither of us had ever been, but keep it kind of close to home so that we didn't spend a long time on the road.  Cooler town than I thought it'd be, but I definitely wouldn't want to live there.  The road/highway system there kind of sucks.  A lot.  Was going to check out a game at PNC but the weather Fri and Sat nights kind of sucked and I didn't really want to sit in 40 degree temps to watch 2 teams I don't really care about.  I'd go back to watch the Phils play out there, but this year they're scheduled for Jul 2-4, so I don't see that one happening. 

Lots of fat chicks grazing the streets in Pirates and Steelers gear though.  Sometimes the internet actually gets it right.
