God I hope so.

You plan on heading out there? Or you just hope that there are still cheap places to drink in this country?

As far as the flights go; if you're getting a non-stop fare of $200pp then I'd book it now. That's a pretty solid deal.

Which airline is it on?

Usually booking that far out isn't advisable but with the way fares are now I'd grab it.

My Houston to Philly fares average out about $365 ($258 lowest - $465 highest) on Continental.

no, it's actually a 1 stop flight in houston.  6.5 hours = 250

non-stop is around 350

a 6-1/2hr layover?

Even for $250 thats not bad - especially since you have the layover in Houston. I assume its Continental/United and thats good....and if you grab it for 250 do it. Those flights fill up fast and prices jump quick.

no, the flight time overall was 6.5 hours.    if i stop over in houston yo ass better be at the airport so we can hug and then fist fight about the phillies

In!

Bush Airport doesn't have any bars or restaurants pre-security, they're all air-side, so you'd have to have enough time so we can go to a bar close by and have a few.

Ideally the stars will align and it will happen on the weekend the Birds are in NO and then we all can meet up there

i've had layovers in houston 3 times in my life, twice from NO and once from guatemala and all 3 times they made me miss my connection. i hate that airport so much.

PhillyPhreak54

Really? Because the gates were far or the delays?

I always have problems in Philly...waiting on tarmac for a gate to open up, circling because ATC is backed up, delays, icehole workers...

phattymatty

both...delays and then the 10 min. jog to the other end of the airport. customs farged me once too.

General_Failure

Houston and Phoenix are the only two airports I've been to in the US that I didn't have a problem with.

The man. The myth. The legend.

They're awful about gate changes too. C-33 to E-17 back to C-12....only about six miles of walking.

Customs got me once and pulled me into the side room and unpacked every single thing in my bag. The lady was a snatch too...so it was with great pleasure as I watched her dig through my bag of dirty socks and boxers.

You should have shown her the photo of you in your Trotter jersey at Machu Picchu.

Smooth sailin', yo...

Only time I've flown through Houston was coming back from Peru last year.  But we were flying in an Air Force a C-17 so we didn't go in the terminal at all.  We got off the plane at the far end of the airport and a couple of vans showed up with police escorts to take us to the other end of the airport where there's a very small terminal that the super rich use to board their private jets.  We stayed overnight at a hotel about 10 miles away and then took off the next day.

When we showed up the next morning though, the plane needed some minor maintenance so we were just hanging out on the tarmac for a while.  The airport fire dept came over with this monster ass fire truck and were giving us rides up and down the flight line in it to help pass the time.  Me and a buddy wanted to smoke but we weren't allowed so a couple of the security guys drove us way out to a closed down runway so we could burn one.  Good times.

No you don't.  You miss having something in your mouth.

i have about a 50-50 shot right now of getting into this exchange program through my job, which would mean spending a year in hong kong.  i'm still in the running so it's a good sign. so i've been kind of doing some early research on the place since i've never been there. i come to realize that it's only a $20 ferry ride to macau, which is basically even bigger than vegas when it comes to casinos and gambling. now i'm thinking of moving there even if i don't make it into the program.

anyone here been to either?

Diomedes

yeah, i spent a week there once with two 19 year old $10k-per-night hookers.

nice place though I prefer Monaco
