perks of being a wallflower - maybe the best coming of age YA movie ever....id put it right up there with breakfast club...its almost as if the ghost of john hughes acame bakc and mde another movie

10/10

the to do list - unfunny movie with lots of raunchy sexual shtein but with no nudity...underlying theme of gender empowerment should be lauded especially because they did it in a way where the character didnt even recognize her strength....at the end of the day tho the jokes just werent funny...the early 90's pop culture references were pretty cool and the cast is completely bizarre

5/10

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

im not sure if AI cooperated with the book, but it was done by a real reporter so there figures to be, you know, reporting and stuff in it. i dont know. he dropped this story already.

QuoteSo here's my favorite story from Not A Game: In 1996, Iverson's agent, David Falk -- who also represented Michael Jordan -- came to Philly to watch the Bulls and Sixers.
Falk offered to take them both to dinner on separate nights, and he gave Iverson the first choice. AI couldn't do it the first night, so Falk and an exec from FTD joined MJ at the Striped Bass, an upscale restaurant in downtown Philly.
They ate well, drank wine, experienced it like the kings they were. When the bill came, dinner came to $3,500.
The next day, Falk called Iverson and asked about dinner. Iverson asked if it was okay if he brought a few people. Sure, Falk said; he would have the FTD guy with him, too. Falk also asked Iverson where he wanted to go -- anywhere in the city, kid.
Iverson suggested TGI Friday's, his favorite spot. When Falk and the FTD guy showed up, Iverson had brought nine people with him: his mom, an uncle, several friends. They sat and ate, spending a few hours living like TGI Friday's kings. When the bill came, Falk reached for it.
Dinner for all 12 of them was less than $300.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i mean i love that kind of shtein..even if it might be the 20th most interesting AI TGIF story ive ever heard

trust me id like to hear that stuff if it was a documentary and there was highlites all around it and someone was being interviewed....or if i see it on the internet its dope.....i just aint reading 350 pages of nonsense or stuff ive heard in a book to get two nuggets like that

how about you read the book and then post all the interesting stuff we dont know about him...im all in on that

yeah...no interest in reading/watching anything ai unless it's going to be a tell-all.  i'd love to know what he was really like back then, tgif stories, missed practices, relationships w/ teammates, etc...but i doubt we'll ever find out if we haven't already.

i will check it out.

have to check out the 30/30 episode as well. i thought the other doc was really good. not over the top great but i liked seeing some of those early interviews & when he was in high school with the whole bowling alley deal.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

i think this book may have some of those....everything is fresh and it seems like he talked to everyone around AI, if not the man himself

i like sports books and i like bubba so im gonna deep dive it. what i wont do is take notes and post the highlites but what i will do is absolutely nothing.

a good woman - 2004 pic about a gossipy upper scrust society on the amalfi coast...very soapy plot but it moves well and is pretty watchable with really good pacing and some twists and turns at the end...could have been a lot better but helen hunt is terribly miscast...on the flip side tom wilkenson is his usual excellence....worth a view if you got nothing else on

5.5/10

into the storm - basically a remake of twister for millenials made with b and c actors...nothing wrong with it for a mindless summer popcorn movie if thats something that interests you

Watched the AI doc, wasn't bad. I agree the 30 for 30 Trial of Allen Iverson was better. He's one of the top 5 iconic basketball players ever. Even if the Sixers win another championship a Philly arena will never rock the way it did when AI was at the height of his career.

i was at both game 7's in 2001...nothing like it...including a flyer stanley cup final game which is incredible in its own right

I watched Interstellar. That sure was a whole lot of almost interesting story full of miscast actors playing boring parts with a crap ending.

I keep hearing it's good

People say a lot of things are good. Did you know enough people watched Entourage that they made a movie for it? If anyone told you that was good, would you go see it or immediately sever all ties with them?
