They're pretty sure because of the way certain meds work depression is caused by how neurons in the brain communicate.

I've had ocd since I was 14. PTSD for the last decade. Did all the meds/therapy etc. nothing works and it's amazing to me how many people think it's just something you can control. 'It's all in your head'...love hearing that from ignorant friends and family.

I wonder how much is hereditary? My mom struggled a bit with it. But my brother nor I don't have any issues.

I wouldn't go that far, sport.

;)

Also - has anyone seen the San Andreas trailer yet?  Oh my God it looks so amazingly awful I cannot wait to see it.   The last scene of the trailer has a girl trapped inside a high rise with a cruise ship hurtling towards her on the crest of a tsunami, and her line is:  "GET DOWN!"  No, really.  Get.  Down.

Watched the restored BluRay version of Hoop Dreams. You all already know the movie is excellent but I can't praise the restoration enough. The movie was shot over many years with a variety of different low-definition Hi8 camcorders, and I'm really impressed by what the restorers were able to do, retaining the varied and gritty look that made the doc feel so real while enriching the color, and cleaning up the images. This is as good as it's ever going to look.

mad max has 34 good, zero bad, average rating of 9.2/10 on rotten tomatoes.  Insane reviews so far.  The aesthetic and trailers didn't make me want to watch it but I love Hardy and those reviews are great, so maybe.

been trying all morning to find a review that is even middling on this and I cant do it

General_Failure

The only way you can screw up a movie set after the apocalypse seems to be to put Kevin Costner in it, so it should be pretty good.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Mad Max was astounding.  Literally edge of your seat for two goddamn hours.  My head is still spinning.  Jesus...

saw two movies this week that i knew zero about beforehand. both ended up being about AI.

chappie - corny but fun. ladyfriend literally cried through half of it. reminded me of an updated short circuit. lots of guns and fighting but still kinda sweet. and hugh jackman is a bad guy. don't think i ever remember seeing that.

ex machina - meh. i looked this up afterwards and it had like a 90% rating but i'm assuming it's by mostly teenaged boys who want a hot robot to have sex with. the ending made up for some of the slowness but i didn't dig it that much.

speaking of AI - i saw the iverson documentry. loved it.

i thought it sucked

in the sense that it was bubba and philly, its was awesome. if it wasnt about either of those things it would be unwatchable. it was amateurish, pedestrian storytelling. watch a generic 30 for 30 then the AI doc and tell me you dont see a difference.

im not even sure when a bulk of the interviews were done. aside from AI's they were all over the map....i dont know if the director bothered talking to anyone or just got some footage and used that.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Seabiscuit36

It was good, but you're right about the interview portion.  They just lumped in older interviews that made it feel like a slightly expanded ESPN 30 for 30 doc.

I saw it. Thought it was entertaining for the most part. There's a lot to like about the guy and a lot to not like about the guy, and that came through (some). It wasn't overly balanced, or an award-winner, but I didn't feel cheated of my time for having watched it.

the iverson 30/30 was much better
