Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Man of Steel was meh until the final fight scene which was truly awful and succeeded in ruining the rest of the movie.

Btw, coming from me meh is kind of a compliment for a superman movie. Meh is about as good as superman movies get. What on earth is interesting about someone with superpowers? The ridiculous lengths they have to go to to put him in harm's way necessarily lead to idiotic plots lines. He's part of the comic book super hero canon so I get that there's a fan base but seriously zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark are interesting, flawed humans. Superman is an invincible, boring, jingoistic puppet.

id give man of steel a B- .... thought it was a bit slow at times but overall liked it. personally i was never a DC guy, besides batman anyway, so i have no bias here like i probably do with marvel.

i have no optimism that the superman vs batman will be good. not with no talent hack playing bruce wayne.

i know it's the thing to think that Affleck sucks but he really doesn't.  i'm not sure how he will be as Batman/Bruce Wayne but in general he's a good actors.  he's been a part of some awful movies no doubt but i think he's good overall.

hes not the hack a lot of people say he is...but hes not good either...theres a reason his best performance is good will hunting....because he wasnt ben affleck yet he was will huntings best friend...ever since he became a celebrity hes been ben affleck in whatever role hes playing and not his character and he just isnt a good enough actor to overcome this problem

that's pretty spot on actually. maybe i'm wrong on how he'll do as batman but again i'm not optimistic.

Affleck just doesn't have range.  If you cast him in the right role he's fine.  But if you need an emotionally showy part he just doesn't have it in him to get to that level.

ok the screenplay sucked too but he was farging horrible. a perfect example of what igy was speaking of.

No, I'm pretty sure Affleck couldn't ruin that movie. Nicolas Cage couldn't have ruined that movie. Uwe Boll couldn't have ruined that movie.

Affleck was great in Argo.  The less he acts, the better.   The less Bahston diarrhea that tumbles out of his face, the really better.

He's okay in certain roles. He's just kind of goofy and his voice/demeanor doesn't have any gravitas. It's just hard to take him seriously in roles that should be taken seriously.

argo was a terrible movie...one of the more overrated in recent memory and affleck in it was ben affleck with a beard

I wouldn't call Argo a masterpiece in cinema but I thought it was decent and thought Afleck was excellent.
