He has no shot unless Biden is the Democratic nominee, and even then it's a coin flip. The GOP is the Phillies of politics. Old, out of touch, run by idiots, and doesn't have many prospects. Rubio is basically their RAJ.

Obama went over Romney in the Electoral College 303 to 206. That's a lot of ground to make up, especially since California probably isn't going to be won by a Republican any time soon. Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio could easily flip, but Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan all went Democrat by a pretty strong margin. Without California, all of those would have to go Republican.

Of course that doesn't take into account gerrymandering and the lack of Obama running, but as long as the Democrats don't go with a stuttering old white guy their candidate will probably still win.

The other thing with Rubio is that the Old Guard Republican base would never actually vote for beaner/spic/wetback/whatever.  You can be a minority in Florida, Texas, NM, Arizona and SoCal and still win elections on the Republican ticket because there's such a large ethnic base to tap into, but the Billy Bobs in Oklahoma and Sally Maes in Kentucky sure as hell don't want any spaniard-type folk around the "White" House unless he's mowing the lawn.

i would seriously never run a white person again if i was the dems...just trot out the best possible black candidate you have to get as much of the minority and youth vote to come out as possible and you should win everytime

hillary is an exception cause she is going to get progressives out being the possible first women prez and the clintons are honorary blacks but after that the motto for the aprty should be "once you go black you can never go back"

im certainly no hillary fan...in reality she (like bill) is what used to be a moderate republican....in fact she may even be to the right of her husband....but the republican party has moved so far to the right that everything is blurred now....now a days a moderate democrat like barry is a marxist

Exactly. And her economic/militaristic moderateness is not something that I'm not totally opposed to, but the fact that she is a woman will inspire much more progressive support than her policy stances will.

Personally, I would love to see more populist words falling from her mouth, but she is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wall St. so that will never happen.

if you read the double down book going inside the 12 election, a few romney people and mitt himself wanted "big boy" to be the vp. they had difficulty dealing with him and his people in getting a full vetting. basically hes got a lot of hidden dirt, beyond the bridge nonsense. the only part they had was stuff about him getting his brother in law and other family members caked off through govt contracts....but theres more. it would only get worse if he was the nominee.
