If Mac wants 1 yr to prove himself worthy of a sizable contract and the team wants multi years they have a lot of options available, like voidable years and escalators which give both parties what they want. No reason they can't get something done, even if it is an unusual case.

Yea, many tears.

Who was the running back before him that was in trouble for his dog.  I'd google it but no search for Eagle and Dog will return anything but Michael Vick I'm sure.  Hammer?  Hamner?

Pretty fair deal. That's one thing I didn't like about Cooper getting 5M/yr. As a 3rd wideout, what if he gets 40 catches and 4 TDs and Mac gets 75 catches and 8 TDs - what do you give Mac as a long term contract? I don't think he's worth that much more than what Cooper is getting but that is what sets the bar.
