Quote"I'm used to this whole deal because, listen, I was benched for Rex Grossman," McNabb said. "And [Shanahan] came out and said [Grossman] gave the team the best chance of winning.  Well, Rex Grossman finished the season 1-2 or 1-3.  I mean, that didn't help nothing.  And so, the whole thing about it is, sometimes you have to look in the mirror and look at yourself.  Stop looking at everybody else.  I don't think that he and Kyle Shanahan can do that."

McNabb would have finished the season 0fer

Whitlock killed it

I think he makes some good points too, and we've seen this with the Eagles. Randall with his gold tipped shoelaces and proclaiming them a "team of destiny."  Any time you think you are somehow preordained by God to win you are automatically a loser. "Gold Standard," "Dream Team," or "Dynasty." Donnie the victim. Jesus Christ how about shut the farg up until maybe you actually win something first.

I think you have to go back a decade to find a team with me-first players that won a SB ('02 Bucs). Since then the teams that win - NE, NYG, Pit don't tolerate the over the top shtein (or in the case of Pit, they aren't around for long). Ray Lewis is outspoken and a loudmouth but to me he was still is a team first guy with winning > doing commercials and making predictions. By contrast we've got Freddie Mitchel and his "got something for you" to Rodney Harrison, who ended up with more catches than fredex in the SB.

Dawkins had a mantra of "keep it humble." When Namath boldly guaranteed a SB victory it helped immortalize that game. It was iconic and fine that time, but something iconic can't be duplicated. There will never be another Vince Lombadi, no matter how many championships another coach wins. Babe Ruth is Babe Ruth and nobody gives a shtein about Bonds. Now when players call out guys on another team or try to guarantee something the best case scenario that can come out of it is nothing. Guys like RG who become more interested in their own story and celebrity, especially when they're the team leader, usually fall flat on their face. Win something first before thinking about being the next Great One.

ice grillin you

i live near dc see rg3's every move and i honestly have no idea what on earth whitlock is talking about....i have never heard a single interview with rg3 where he showed even a little bit of swagger....nor have i ever seen him talk shtein on the field....say what you want about his performance this year as its been horrendous but hes never anything but humble...in fact read the piece carefully and try to find one example whitlock gives of rg3 having to much swag....he really doesnt....he just says he does

as for his relationship with lil danni and alienating teammates in the locker room im not sure....that's may be a real problem...but as far as swag goes if anything rg3 doesn't have enough...in fact hes pretty damn passive

basically what has happened imo is that the guy and his coach hate each other....because of the injury he had no offseason workouts to advance his game....he probably came back early and he didn't have his ability to run this year....that's a lethal combination for failure

i think next year a new coach comes in and with a full offseason of getting better you will see a different rg3 and no one will even remember clueless pieces like whitlocks
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Rome

Do you honestly believe the bullshtein you post?   Jesus Christ, man.

ice grillin you

i challenge anyone and double challenge you to post one single comment by rg3 that shows he has too much swag

im open to change my opinion just show me

rather i think what will happen is that youll freak out because i said something not 100% negative about a team not named the eagles

or if you can get past your tears ask mattys opinion....he lives in dc too....maybe you will believe him

whats funny is that everyone wants to compare him to the bedwetter and his passive aggressiveness....and now hes has too much swag?....you cant have over the top swag and be passive aggressive....pusssssies are passive aggressive

i agree with gf....this was just whitlock being a bitter old man and writing an article about "swag"....deep down its not even really a piece about rg3

God is personally testing him.   Personally, man!

re: griffin, i don't think i'd say swagger is the right word.  desean = swagger.  steve smith.  colin kaepernick.

griffin has reminded me, to an extent, of donovan this year.  Blaming others.  Definitely passive aggressive.  He hasn't come across as a natural leader this year but that's a different criticism than saying he's got swag.

Rome

God has plans for him.  Really.  He does.

Jesus.

Oh, and swagger isn't the correct term.  That would be narcissist.
