Yes, damn those unions.

We'll leave out that the line on the graph showing the fall in union membership and the fall in the percentage of the wealth that the middle class holds being virtually identical...

Evil unions!

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I am talking about the NLRB suit against Boeing, to be very specific. I am not anti-union, just pro right-to-work.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

aetheists are igycentrists too afraid to admit that the existence of gods is a preposterous manmade concept used to steal and murder

in a way they are even worse than zealots

Aethiests don't believe in any diety. Are you thinking of agnostics?

I very much care about a candidate's religious beliefs.  I don't care if he/she has them, but I don't want that person to be so over zealous with their beliefs that they may try and change the laws of this country to fall in line with those beliefs.  Live your life by the rules of your religion if you want to but don't try and make them the laws that I have to abide by.

If our laws were all based on religious doctrine, I'd be on the FBI's Top 10 list.

You do (obviously not) realize that all of our laws originate from religious doctrine, right? As does most every other nation.

So are you saying that before the 10 commandments murder was not a crime among men and that it took a burning bush, a stone tablet and one of the dudes from ZZ Top to finally establish that killing was wrong?  Laws were in existence long before man or "god" put them in writing and called them gospel.

That's exactly who he's thinking of.  Athiests don't believe in any sort of god or higher power.  Agnostics neither confirm or deny the existance of a higher power.

I'm agnostically athiest.  I don't deny the possibility that a higher power exists but I think that everything man has written about him/her/it/they is a total fabrication and I'm not going to waste one second of my life praying and sacrificing and trying to live a "pure" life just because the oldest fairy tale in the world tells me to.  Farg that, if there is some sort of god out there, I'm gonna do me and let him do him and if we meet up in the afterlife and he has a problem with how I lived, we'll hash it out then over a couple of 40's and some herb while watching Good Times re-runs.

In the meantime, keep your religion in your church or your home.

ice grillin you

i dont care what you call yourself....if you believe that a god could exist you are part of the problem and only empowering the zealots

why are you a lunatic if you are 40 years old and believe in the easter bunny or that true blood is a work of non-fiction but if you believe in gods you are a perfectly resonable human being

I am saying that the separation of church and state is as big of a myth as santa, jesus, or the dinosaurs.

Sometimes you're a real farging tool and it's amazing that you have the ability to consciously denounce religion rather than jump on board.  I don't beleive anything said or written about religion.  It's a sham.  I made that pretty clear.  Not sure how that is empowering the zealouts.

im not talking about religion altho its basically one in the same....im talking about the belief in a god...that basic belief is behind all religion and i dont care if you are a zealot or not that is a ridiculous notion that should not be lent credibility

thus acknowledging that there could be gods floating around somewhere is a form of empowerment for the religious
