Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

I want him dead, I want his family DEAD, I want his house burned to the ground, I want to piss on the ASHES!

And farg Pakistan.  Those iceholes supported bin Laden for years.   They're fanatical lunatics and deserve a 40 megaton fireworks show up their asses.

Diomedes

there are 170 million of them and they are sitting on a pile of nukes large enough to ruin life on earth

the government is widely reviled by tens of millions of Pakistanis who sympathize with bin Laden; complete state collapse is a real threat.

oh yeah, there's India right next to them too

it's a problem no one knows how to handle

of course they knew...its just a matter of how high it went...it concievable that it was just local military hiding him...i cant imagine it went to the highest levels of government as they wouldnt want to risk the amount of aid they get from us or face possible consequences

CNN showed the map and it was actually a lot closer, like a few hundred yards and the same neighborhood as pakistan's version of west point.

Sounds like a great place to stay for a few years to do some recruiting.

The locals may have known, and even the military people in that town. But I find it hard to believe that it didn't reach the upper levels of their intelligence and government that the world's most wanted criminal was living comfortably in their country.

They shielded him and should be held accountable.

you cant put a number on how much that information would be worth to someone in the upper levels of the pakistani govt were they to give it to the US...at the local level i could understand the sympathy towards bin laden but theres no farging way anyone with significant power in pakistan wouldnt give that up to zardari and then in turn to US officials...in fact bin laden/al queda long ago delcared war on the pakistani govt...and since bin ladens death the threats have amped up against the zardari government via al queda

Well the bounty on his head was what; $10M?

But its impossible to believe he can be hidden so long, so well in plain sight without someone knowing and supporting him.

Of course they knew. They were in a tough position where they had to choose between angering a significant portion of their own population by cooperating 100% with America or angering one of their biggest financiers (the US) by cooperating 100% with al-Qaeda. So they chose something in the middle. They helped America take out scores of al-Qaeda underlings and conduct bombings in their territory so they could continue to reap billions of dollars in US aid, but they definitely kept Osama himself hidden and definitely knew about him.

The question isn't about whether they knew, it's about how we respond now that the truth is out. I have no idea what the right answer is for dealing with a fringe, unstable, nuclear-armed psuedo-ally. Hopefully much smarter people than I have some sort of plan because this has the potential to be ugly.

QuoteA Senior US Official tells CNN 10 hard drives, 5 computers and more than 100 storage devices which includes discs, DVDs and thumb drives were taken from the compound.

The senior us official also says the White House received 3 sets of photos yesterday. The photos included:

1. Photos of OBLs body at a hanger after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It's very bloody and gory.

2. Photos from the burial at sea on the USS Carl Vinson. Photos of OBL before the shroud was put on and then wrapped in the shroud.

3. There are photos of the raid itself that include photos of the two dead brothers, one of OBLs dead son (adult adolescent, maybe approx 18 yrs old) and some of the inside scene of the compound.

The official says the challenge is that the picture that includes the most recognizable image of OBLs face – from the hangar in Afghanistan – is so gruesome and mangled its not appropriate for say the front page of the newspaper. On the other hand, this is the one that is most identifiable as him

Release them all.

Maybe then the crackpot jerkoffs who seem to think this is a coverup/conspiracy will shut up. And if they get offended by looking at his brains hanging out of his so - so farging what.

FoxNews246!

The response is critical because its a slap in the face. Whether economic sanctions or trade embargoes are the way to go, I don't know.
