I agree with MDS on this there is a 5 team race in the NFC any one of those teams could make it to the SB and no one would be surprised.

I for one would be stunned into a coma if the Eagles made the Superbowl.

QB Eagles

Stunned into a coma and drunk into a coma are not the same thing.

Drunkmasterflex

I would be shocked if they made it, but with the weapons they have on offense they certainly have a shot.

its really not that far fetched

1. the eagles already killed atlanta, who played like a bunch of Hoydas in their 1 big game this year @ home against NO
2. the eagles could have would have should have beaten the bears, whose quarterback is jay cutler
3. the seahawks suck
4. the saints have been riding their superbowl victory all year long...so clearly not the same team and there is no absolutely no reason to think theyll get it back. since week 12: barely got by dallas, barely got by cinci, solid if unspectacular home win against the rams, loss @ bal, gift win @ atl, loss at home to tampa. what about this team scares anyone other than what they did 1 year ago?
5. mike vick nearly beat the packers by himself....and this team could barely squeak past a half interested bears team with their season on the line at home.

its wide open...wide open. almost a toss up in every game outside of NO/Sea. not that i wont lay down big money on it or anything.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It's the Eagles. End of discussion.

Are you seriously comparing the 2010 Eagles to the 2009 Saints?

No more clicking on Show me the post. for me.

The Packers defense scares me. You know they were taking notes watching Jarrad Allen and Ray Edwards coming off the edges for Minny.  Not to mention DeMarcus Ware last week.

no, sweetie, im simply saying that the "they're the eagles, they'll find a way to lose" defense mechanism philly fans love to use doesnt really ever apply

I don't see this line stopping Matthews. It'll be interesting to see if Vick can elude him.

MMH

It'll be interesting to see Vick put his money where his mouth is.
Let's see if he was right, and if he starts and finishes the game they win.

This Clay Matthews hype and trembling at the knees of the guy is getting out of hand from the media and in here.

If you game plan for him (which they didnt the first game and with Kolb at qb), overload the right side he can be contained. Yeah hes very disruptive, but lets not act like this guy had 22.5 sacks on the year. Better yet he only has 2 sacks in the past 6 games.

Remember all those sacks Ware had the first game?

shorebird

No one is trembling at the knees, but the guy is one of the best defensive players in the game, if not the best at his position in only his second year. You say he's had only two sacks the last six games, but he's still been making plays all over the field. Also, the last three games have been against the Giants, Pats and Bears. All those teams have better a better o-line than that Eagles. You can try to game plan for him, it remains to be seen if it works. And it's not as simple as overloading the right side when you're talking the Eagles vs the Packers. The Eagles can't stop any team one on one straight up.

SD

Reid has never and will never game plan for a single player. Even in game when a player is getting destroyed (See Demarcus Ware yesterday) he doesn't adjust. Plan on seeing Matthews come from Vicks right and Woodson coming from his left. GB is going to contain the ends like every team has done, occassionally bring pressure up the middle, and drop their safeties back. Reid will still have Vick dropping back 7 yards, running for his life and throwing it 40 yards downfield. Monday he'll say "this ones on me" and everyone here will be calling for his head.
