Munson

You know damn well Reid aint gonna stop calling flare routes to the FB on 3rd and 8.

And bombs to Jackson on 3rd and 2.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

No doubt picks will be up this year but I don't see a huge drop in the offense #'s

There's a chance for fewer 3rd and 8 situations, at least.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Munson

Well as long as he continues to ignore the run on 3rd and short, then we're good.

no one "calls" a swing route to the fullback on third and 8...its there as a means of avoiding a sack or a last progression if all else fails...if a ball goes to a back in that scenario blame the wr's for not getting open the qb for bailing out on the play or bad protection...but its not on the coach

now sideline routes to a wr on third and two is a different story

not to a fullback he doesnt...he designs it into the play as an option but he doesnt say throw it to the fullback on this 3rd and 8....its a deep progression pattern

in fact he abhors throwing it to the fullback in high % situations much less on 3rd and longs

He called it to that idiot fullback from Minnesota in the playoff game against New Orleans from the 5 yard line on 3rd and goal.

that wasnt a swing route nor was it 3rd and 8...not to mention inside the five yard line literally changes everything...however take those three factors away and it becomes a perfect analogy

dont get me wrong it was a horrible play it just doesnt apply to what we are talking about

But people who remember how the presumed starting o-line never got a single rep during last year's camp can't help but feel a little uneasy, with left guard Todd Herremans sitting out to rest his achy foot, center Jamaal Jackson still recovering from ACL surgery, and Jackson's replacement, Nick Cole, currently out with knee swelling. Andrews missed one workout last week with shoulder soreness but quickly returned.

At what point does building cohesiveness become a concern?

"It doesn't become a concern at all, man," Andrews said.
