If they hadn't traded McNabb the offense would be fine![/crazyphreak]

lol...

Kolb's been pickariffic in practice lately.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QB Eagles

pickariffic = 2 picks
lately = yesterday

McNabb also threw two picks yesterday, including a pick-six to Byron Westbrook.

The real offensive concern in Eagles camp is that the O-line has been a turnstile.

some hope and a possible future with cobb >>>> an old annoying douche nozzle of qb who no one on the team likes or respects and cant get it done

QB Donovan McNabb. Many of us have come to the conclusion that he just doesn't look that great in practice most of the time. He hasn't exactly been on-target with his throws. He was better in the red zone, but even in the 7 on 7s – with no rush, it's easier to find open targets – he was off. Got picked by Carlos Rogers on one; would have been a touchdown.

Practice?  We talkin' 'bout practice??

Seriously though, it all means ass until the season starts.  Around week 8 or so we'll know whether Kolb is a player and McNabb can be a better QB without Reid.

I love how the so-called experts are predicting 5 & 6 wins for a team that went 11-5 last year.

Have the Eagles really regressed that much and more importantly have the other teams in the division gotten that much better?

I don't see it.

Drunkmasterflex

Who gives a shtein? It is probably because they got rid of McNabb.

its because they have an unknown first year starting qb and a terrible defense

i think they probably win more than 5 but theres a better chance of five than 11 thats for sure

Everyone is expecting a learning curve with Kolb, so that's probably a game or two right there. The oline was shoddy last year and they didn't really do anything to improve it this year.

Their defense, especially their secondary, was kind of a sieve and losing one of your two starting CB's doesn't really help that. Nate Allen could be dawk's replacement but to count on that his rookie year would be unwise. Stewie being back helps, but first year off the ACL tear and most people won't expect him to be himself.

I don't think it'll be as low as 6, but it isn't completely unreasonable to think so if they get some bad breaks/bounces in a few games.

I think the defense is going to be pretty good. The young guys they drafted along with Ernie Simms and Killa are going to have a good year, I think.

It hinges on Sean McDermott and the secondary.

Can McDermott scheme his own stuff? He's had a full year, not thrust into the gig like last year.

Can he control Asante and make him play the farging defense that is called?

Can Ellis Hobbs, Nate Allen and Quintin Mikell work together and play well?

I am more worried about the goddamn OL. The one time they need to address it and Reid ignores it. Any other year he'd draft 3 OG/C's.

It was a good post, as are most of 54's, if you can get past the first part of him thinking the defense is going to be pretty good.

SD

Schefter was at camp today, I wanted to steal his phone.

- I'll be surprised if the special teams aren't much better this season. Bobby April is vocal as farg and anal about details
- Tried watching some of the players not getting the spotlight like Darryl Tapp. Tapp looked good, he has a good burst off the ball but didn't stand out one way or another.
- As of right now I'd say sunshine is the 4th WR with Kelley Washington the 5th guy. Think Baskett (got banged up today) and Chad Hall get cut
- Brandon Graham and Nate Allen are both gonna be players. I'll be surprised if Graham isn't a double digit sack guy at some point in his career. Allen plays like a veteran. He made a couple of nice sticks. Didn't look like tackling was an issue for him.
- Stewie and Sims are the best LBs out there, there's a definite drop off after them.
- Maclin looks fine, he was on the field for a bit but did some stretching and stuff for the majority of practice
- Kolb looks good, it's nice to see a guy lead a receiver and not throw at his feet. Kafka has good touch on his ball. Vick looked like typical Vick, threw some lasers between traffic then overthrew an open receiver.
- O-line doesn't look good, especially the interior.
- During the afternoon practice Akers planted his foot wrong and grunted, then came off the field. I'm sure he's fine but it's worth noting.

Asante Samuel was talking shtein to the Offense all day long. During live contact 1st D vs. 2nd O Buckley ran up the middle and trucked him. He didn't say shtein the rest of the day.

The BIGSTUD

I'm ok with INTs from Kolb if it means very seldomly seeing a 1 yard dump-off pass to a RB or FB on 3rd and 8.

Oh and the ball at the feet thing.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.
