The BIGSTUD

Just started watching the show Breaking Bad on AMC the other day. Very good show. Not 100% caught up yet, but I like added humor in the show. Sometimes I like dramas being completely serious, but the blend works well in the show.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Wtf are you talking about?

Edit:

Nevermind. Didn't even see your post on BB. Just clicked the topic to go to page 1 and hit reply. That said, I probably would've posted the same thing just to spite you anyway. I'm sure we'll enjoy chatting BB in the future MDS.

Been watchin' Breaking Bad since it came on. Great show.

They just killed off another of their co-stars, Jessie's girlfriend, Jane (Betsy Brandt). It's a shame she won't be showing all that leg and ass anymore, but it was great the way the had her die, choking on her own puke, after she had rolled up a pillow and propped Jessie on his side to keep him from doing it.

I want to see what happens when the cartel catches up with Walter White.

I'm flipping around because there's nothing on, and I can't seem to stop watching Deadliest Warrior on Spike. They get a bunch of guys to cut up, shoot, and/or beat the shtein out of some meat and ballistics gel, and pretend there's some kind of science going on.

The man. The myth. The legend.

There's a lot of shtein on Spike that you have no idea why you watch it... it's filled with terrible guilty pleasure programming.

not quite in the top ten anymore but basically yea, its too expensive. every year a shows licensing fee between the studio that produces the show and the network that airs it goes up.

when both those things are owned by the same company, generally its easier to work out since the bottom line comes back to the same place. but without a trace is produced by warner bros. and it airs on cbs which is owned by viacom. now warners was able to make the cuts to keep chuck on the air, but i guess they refused with without a trace.

the show also skewered pretty old, so despite the fact that people were watching it, it was people who advertisers dont care about---old middle americans.

was that too much of answer?

MDS, why did The Unit get the axe?

Around the same reason as Without a Trace but it had worse numbers.

Basically CBS is doing better, much better, than the other networks, so the "cancel line" for them equates to numbers NBC and ABC would salivate over. But, again, the show is expensive to produce, the licensing fees are bigger, the numbers aren't as good as other shows. So, with that, they get rid of it and try something new.

I suppose WAT and The Unit both have slight chances to get picked up elsewhere, but there has been no buzz about that. Medium already moved to CBS, My Name is Earl's proposed move to Fox fell apart, Reaper might move into syndication, and that's about it. It seems those two CBS shows are as good as dead.

It was a great show, outside of the farging wives and the backstories they had.  My wife almost had an aneurysm every time Kim Brown was on there.  Whats up with USA lately, they've been gobbling up tvshows for syndication, and not waiting 10 years to do it

cable stations can air shows once a week or so, so they dont have to wait for the 100 episode magic number like broadcast networks do. those shows air 5 times a week, sometimes on weekends. so they need more episodes in the tank.

9.8 million viewers for the Jon & Kate season premiere on Monday.  Is that a non-sports cable record?
