Something For The "Get Surgery Now, McNabb" Crowd

Many folks have said that McNabb should go get the surgery because it would "only" be a 4-6 week absence despite the Eagles medical staff saying it would be possibly up to 12 weeks.

My opinion was that once you get cut on there are no guarantees especially with returning this season.

Well look at Dirk Johnson's case. He had the surgery before training camp, missed 6 weeks of action and here we are in week 9 and he is still being plagued by groin pain that is associated with that sports hernia.

If McNabb had the surgery, even after the Oakland game, there would be no guarantee that he'd be ready to go at all this year.

We're going to have to watch him struggle the rest of the year to warm up. We're not going to see him run. I know this has been said to the point of exhaustion, but Reid MUST get that running game going. We saw glimpses of it yesterday and the balanced attack worked (duh). And the defense needs to find their balls and play Eagle defense like they are known to.

And don't give me the "Booohoo we lost Simon & Burgess" crap. In 2003 we had Jim Flanigan, Frank Ferrara and Marco Coleman logging time at DE and no Jeremiah Trotter and they were still stopping teams.

Jim Johnson needs to adjust better and the uniy needs to step it the farg up.

Those people were idiots from the get go. The get surgery crowd has drifted off though. The new crowd is the "Start McMahon" crowd. At this point I'm not in that boat yet, because it's unknown how much the injury is affecting McNabb and how much of it is teams blitzing. If they fix the protection and start to run the ball and McNabb is still this bad then I'll want McMahon in there. He's better than AJ Feeley and AJ Feeley came here and won games.

Is it possible that Lito is just exposed and is an average corner? I'm not necessarily saying he is, but it's a possibility. You need more than a couple years as a starter to prove yourself in this league.

Considering the fact that everyone has sucked on defense, I'm not quite ready to say Lito sucks. Trotter sucks, but I'll withhold judgement on Tito.
