Now Cataldi says McNabb is not a leader, that he cannot audible and everything is his fault and the hernia is an excuse.

I forgot his show was on CSN on Mondays. Time to go back to ESPN.

Look, I love to hate on Tito as much as anyone else people but I got two words for y'all:  sophomore slump.

As for McNabb, his situation was and continues to be a roll of the dice any way you slice it.  You sit him, you risk the recovery time from the hernia and the very real possibility that he won't get healthy enough to play again during the season.  You play him, you risk the injury hampering his performance and the possibility that it could worsen.  Either way sucks but I personally think that the reason you're not hearing anything from the get surgery crowd is because the time to do it would have been right after the Dallas drubbing.  Now we're too far into the season now for Nabby to have a really good chance of being able to play again so we might as well do what we can with what we've got. :P

PS  It's amazing that JJ could get it done with Levon Kirkland and Barry Gardner then Nate Wayne and Simoneau after that.  War Flanigan!

Sophomore slump?

2002 = rookie year
2005 = current year

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 = 4 years

Regardless if he is a "sophomore starter" he's been here long enough to be fundamentally sound.

Not only what Phreak said...but also, its the way it looks on the field. When he gets burned it never looks like his best effort....ever. You see Brown fight and scrapping (oh shtein, I said scrapping) and laying it all out on the field....Lito just Randy Moss's it out there.

Lito does look average(like most corners) with no pass rush.

Har, har.  If there were a I'm gonna kick you in the nuts! smiley I'd be all over that shtein right about now.

Anyway, Tito spent most of the 2002 season gimped and he didn't see much field time in '03 either because Downtown Sheldon Brown was doing such a fine job as nickel corner in Sheppard's absence.  So while he's been here more than two years he's still got room to improve IMO. :flipoff

Look, chugger, you're putting me into a delicate situation here because once again I'm explaining Tito and I'm nowhere near his biggest fan but with that said his coverage style is Darrell Green all the way.  So when he's doing well he looks like a million bucks (which is why he went to the Pro Bowl while our #1 corner stayed at home) but when he's farging up like now he looks like the second coming of Izell Jenkins. ;)

I was in the get cut now crowd, and still think he shoulda.  My reasoning goes to the same place as RJS with TO getting hurt - if they had McMahon/Neckbeard in there, they'd run more, balancing the O.  Yeah, McNabb might not get back this season,  and would almost certainly come back too soon.  But they'd have a more balanced offense for him to manage, and would be much better off.

Too late now.
Anyone but Reid.

the "this team doesn't miss simon & burgess" crowd are the real delusional idiots...have you people watched this defense get lit up over the past few weeks?  have you seen them generate absolutely no pressure on the qb?

yeah...yeah...i know....simon is fat. ::)

Yeah because Burgess and Simon were so good at getting pressure last year, right?

How much pressure had either of them exerted to this point last year?  I don't recall either of them doing much.

What's your next point?

Yeah you can run more and balance the offense out, but when Neckbeard or McMahon are your QBs balance wouldn't mean shtein because the passing offense would be putrid.

What they need to do is balance the offense out with McNabb in there. If he's throwing less, not getting smoked on every play because he has no time to read the defensive alignment and the OL not getting the job done then the offense would be fine with McNabb and his hernia in there.

We posted the same exact thing, for all intents and purposes, at the same time.  How ghey.
