Any of you play darts?

Stupid game.

I'm making a dartboard cabinet for friends.  I want to put a shelf in the bottom of it that will be bored out for darts to be filed into it.  I need to know:

a. how long is a throwing dart tip to tip?
b. how long is the metal tip from point to ferrule (knurled metal part you hold when throwing)
c. how wide (thick) is the ferrule?

If any of you is dumb like my friends and you have some darts around, could you take a few quick measurements for me?

1.  Darts is fun, cretin.

2.  Darts come in various lengths, thicknesses, and weights.  There is no standard size that I'm aware of, other than the cheap throw-in darts that might get included with a board.

3.  Build dart storage onto the inside of a door rather than on a shelf beneath the board.

I love playing darts, but it's usually at a bar. I'd be afraid to have a dartboard in my house.

Thanks, Sarge.  You've confirmed that I've already farged it up and should never have tried.  Carcass is already made and there's no room to mount anything on the inside of the doors.   

Maybe I'll just omit the goddamn shelf, throw it all in a fire, and kill myself.

My best friend's dad had a dartboard in the house when I was in my early teens. We took the darts, and dipped them in chemicals from a set he got for Christmas. Then we made up a game where we threw them at each other while we used a little cushion as a shield. I pegged him him in the head and had to pull it out using legitimate force. I have no idea how we survived that time. But, long story short, darts are fun.

Jesus. Do you guys do block scheduling? A lot of the teachers around here were pretty pissed when they went to block scheduling...allowed the schools to eliminate a unit in each department and everyone's roll went from 120-150 to 160-190.
