I don't get the infatuation with fireworks...especially amateur fireworks. I've seen shtein blow up before, and there are people blowing up everyday not for funsies. Why would anyone take the chance at being a Darwin joke? The risk/reward just is not there. I just read an EMS story...a couple of guys died using body mortars. In one case, the firework didn't go off, so the guy looked into the tube...at which point (surprise!) it went off. Blew his head off. So stupid.

I would, but I was talking about fireworks. The gun thing kind of works, but at least in theory people think they have guns for protection or to hunt or whatever. Fireworks have one purpose even with the staunchest rationalization. Not sure what point you're making, unless you think I'm some sort of super pro-gun guy, which I'm not. I think better regulation would be a good call, if you're keeping score.

That would be an excellent point if we were talking about guns. We were talking about fireworks. What priorities are you talking about? Not talking about a subject we're actually talking about because, you know, guns! That makes no sense. It's not like saying one thing is stupid doesn't make the other thing stupid.

I'm not agitated. Just trying to figure out how you went from fireworks to guns then made it about priorities between the two...all from a conversation specifically about fireworks. That's like some homeless guy rambling, right there. I was interested in the thought process, not worked up. Even if it was serious business, it wouldn't be serious business. It's a football thread on a message board with a handful of active participants. Safe to say we're not curing the worlds ills.

I don't even see the allure in watching fireworks much less setting them off. The technology hasn't changed. It's the same fireworks you've been watching for 25 years. I rarely even watch movies more than once so fireworks don't do it for me.
