The Jets won't even shower.  They're just walking straight to the bus and getting the farg outta Dodge.

Josey has to make the team.

Burton should make the PS and I wish they would have hidden him a bit more to try to keep other teams off his trail.

how many rookie FA kickers have ever had a good year in the nfl....they usually are unable to adapt to the league right away....not saying I wouldn't do it but its might risky no matter how bad henery is

still tonight was probably dudes entire nfl future on the line and he shows up like that - that means something to me.

QB Eagles

Josey had a great game against totally irrelevant competition. Plus the backup OL guys have been tearing defenses open. I would be surprised if the performance put him ahead of Tucker.

ice grillin you

the 4th game is exactly for bubble guys to catch on a roster...the competition level doesnt mean anything...in fact chip believes in rookies not going against veterans in the preseason because he doesnt want them overwhelmed and to lose confidence...hes done that with matthews for much of the preseason

anyway josey is clearly a better runner than tucker....the question is is he ready to pass protect....its also not out of the question that polk goes and josey tucker stay...also we dont know the extent of tuckers shoulder injury yet...at least i havent heard anything

QB Eagles

I could see the Eagles dropping Polk and going with Josey/Tucker. Not probable because I'm pretty sure they really like Polk and he's done well, but possible.

In my experience, the 4th preseason game is more often a situation where the fanbase gets really excited over some huge performance from an unknown, only to see him get cut two days later. The Eagles have seen plenty of Josey in practice, they know him a lot better than we do. It might also come down to what body type Chip wants for the 4th RB. Another McCoy/Sproles (Josey) or a big back (Tucker).

Ultimately it's 4th RB so who gives a shtein, but it's good to see how strong their depth is. Even on the defense, they've been getting better camp bodies. The preseason has been more about finding the best depth guys and less about patching wide open holes on the team.

Speaking of patching a wide open hole on the team, the fans will revolt if the Eagles don't go with Parkey at K.

theres def some of that associated with the final preseason game...when mike gasperson goes for 110 and a touch in game 4 it doesn't mean shtein...when henry josey does it def means something whether that's for the eagles or another team...what was so interesting last night was that so many guys who have a legit shot at the roster either performed well or didn't (got hurt)...I cant recall the last time the eagles had this many interesting end of the roster decisions

bottom line is you have to show you have the talent and ability to belong in the nfl which josey certainly does....then you have to produce in games which josey has...I wonder if his horrific one in a million knee injury is at all in the back of their minds altho we are almost three years out from that...his comeback alone would have me putting him on the roster but that's why im not an nfl coach

josey has a different burst than tucker, barner, or even polk.  they need to put him on the roster
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

was looking up some scouting reports on parkey....

QuoteStrengths Three-year starter in the SEC. Converted multiple game-winning field goals and has shown he can handle pressure. Efficient squib kicker. Works at his craft and takes the game seriously.

Weaknesses Average rise and hang-time on kickoffs -- lines the ball with limited lift. Long-range distance is shaky and struggles converting beyond 50. Non-factor in coverage.

Draft Projection Priority free agent

Bottom Line Three-by-two, soccer-style kicker with enough leg strength to warrant a chance in a camp, though he must prove he can more consistently handle kicking accurately from greater depths to earn a job.

I prefer Tucker...just think in real action his size and speed will be more valuable than Joseys quickness. Its concerning Tucker has been injured...josey has carried the workload admirably. Wouldn't mind it at all if Joseys makes the team...he's earned it. Don't like Barner at all. They can use Sproles or Carroll to return kicks until Huff comes back which by all reports will be week 2.

tucker and polk you cant even compare they are much bigger...josey is a shifty guy with really fast feet who hammers the hole...kinda like sporles without that pass catching ability...none of us know what hes done in practice/film room behind closed doors to improve his receiving and his pass protect...i suspect thats what it comes down to for him to make the team...

what I don't understand is why is barner automatically the only guy who can return kicks like its a given...its a temporary job until huff comes back....keep josey and have him KR short term...returns are such a small part of the game now anyway

3. polk
4. josey - KR
5. tucker (if you want five backs)

OUT - barner (oregon guy cut...yeah right)

Here's a good question, why does Brad Smith make the team? Saw nothing from him last season, saw nothing from him this preseason. I'd rather keep Maehl.
