Allen can't hit or tackle worth a damn.   Is he horrendous?  Not really.  But if the team is going to upgrade anywhere it should be there.

At safety sure...because Wolff is only ok and Chung is maybe the worst defensive player in the league. But Allen is fine as the starting FS. Don't know what more the guy can do to convince you. The d is playing well in large part because he can cover the deep route.

And I have to give credit where I thought they were weakest coming into this year.  Davis has really done an impressive job with this group from the start of the preseason to now.  Having a solid front 3 or 4 depending on the front, add in LB's that aren't a total liability, and the secondary has been taking advantage of the pressure from up front.  Fletcher continues to be impressive, and his game is physical and reminiscent of Sheldon.  All in all, They're not the greatest, they're not the worst, and they're better than I figured on them being so it's been a fun year.

I think the D needs another top notch pass rusher at OLB and a safety and they can be a pretty good defense.  I wouldn't mind an upgrade over cary williams at corner either.  fletcher is pretty good i wouldn't mind seeing him signed long term
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

if foles keeps playing like he is it opens up the draft for the team to go after a pass rusher, safety or whatever.

Unless Foles just completely falls apart in the final month of the season, I can't see them going for a QB early in the draft next year.  What I'm really looking forward to seeing is how he handles the pressure of a big game and the Eagles could very well be going into Dallas in week 17 with the division on the line.  If he plays well for the next 4 weeks then I'm 100% on board with him being the starter in 2014 and using draft picks on other positions of need.

You guys are giving up on Hot Prospect Matt Barkley already? Shameful.

yesterdays game told me that nick foles will not be chip kellys qb of the future....a qb who can run even a little bit would have had over 100 yards rushing...foles is a complete sloth who just doesnt fit

and speaking of chip kelly he had a hideous day yesterday

I had all of these exact same thoughts watching yesterday's game, but I still don't think Kelly will draft a QB next year unless he sees one that really fits. He isn't just going to draft some mobile QB who otherwise blows, or if he does he's a farging moron. If there's a QB that fits I expect Chip to draft them and I would be totally fine with it.

This is why I said that I'd be ok with Foles as the starter for 2014.  I'm on record going back to last year saying that I like Foles and I want to see him succeed but I'm still not sold on being a franchise guy.  Even though it hasn't blatantly hurt the Eagles, his lack of mobility and arm strength are still big concerns.  But I still really like him and think he's got all of the intangibles that people want in a QB which helps to mask some of his physical deficiencies.

But since they've played their way out of a top 10 draft pick I think them grabbing a franchise guy in the draft is out of the question now barring some insane trade to move up.  Not to mention that since Foles is doing some historical shtein right now, it'll be almost impossible for the FO to justify to the fans on anyone besides Foles being the starter next year.

Seems like he's really struggling in the 2nd half of most games.  I guess that's to be kind of expected for a rookie coach coming straight from college, but this offense just goes into hiding in the 2nd half and they might as well not even go on the field in the 4th quarter.  But at least he finally challenged a play.

there will be qb's that fit kelly's system, the issue will be is it worth what will need to be given up to get one ?

common sense time management is not something that you get better at. you either have it or you don't. eagles coaches have not had it in 13 years.

seems they got a little better yesterday...but if you're going to run the play clock down to 7-8 seconds during the last eagles drive, just take it down to one. those few extra seconds essentially gave the cards an extra TO as they got the ball back with like 2:08 something when it easily could have been below 2:00. just totally dumb.
