Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

keep in mind bynum said he wants to test the FA market next year. so its sort of a risk to bring him in because he could easily just leave in the summer.

but if all theyre giving up is igwadala? ummmm hello. they just have to make sure they treat crazy ass bynum like a king for a year so he wants to stay. theyll have the $ to max him out, too.

better fire collins right now then...i cant think of a more volatile combo in sports than doug coaching that moron...and even if you fire collins and sign bynum you have to assume hes gonna grow up one day....and thats a big if...i wouldnt be super against hoping that works but btwn his knees and his attitude if i had my choice i think id pass on him
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

he is all of the things you describe, but unless this season is a total disaster you have to take that chance.

but even at the worst they give up igy for him. so what. bynum leaves and they have even more cap space in 13. thats fine, too.

Yup.  I'm actually a bigger fan of Bynum on the court than I am Howard (Howard is the better player though), but Bynum is a god damn baby.  Serious maturity issues.  But at least he managed to stay healthy this season.  And even though there were less games, I think it was just as taxing physically with fewer off days as a regular 82 game year.

oh i have no problem with the trade...im wary of maxing him out long term

well bynum even said he wants to test the market. so you see what happens this year. if hes a total funhole then you let him walk. but if he for whatever reason matures, health looks OK, then you obviously go for it.

Agree with Todd here. Take a chance, maybe he loves the city and signs long term. Who knows, I'd rather have a year of Bynum than a year of Igy. At worst you get Igy's salary off the books. If this goes through it's better than anything they could have gotten for him anyway. I'll take the baby attitude for a year to see if it works.

Pretty much.

Does he stay healthy enough for the Sixers to have confidence maxing him out?
Does he show enough maturity for the Sixers to max him out?
Does he like the team/city enough to want to max out?

If the answer to all 3 is yes, then they should be able to match any offer he receives.

Where are you seeing this?

http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2012/08/09/report-sixers-involved-in-four-way-dwight-howard-trade/

That report says it could be Gasol rather than Bynum heading here. If that's the case I'd pass.

i was going off the yahoo wojarnowski report and that hasnt been updated, so im going to ignore this because it sucks and ruins my mood

not being a fleshpop or getting hurt for one season is not the deciding factor as to whether you max him out or not

if hes a fleshpop or blows his knee out then obviously you dont...

but anyone can play one season of injury free ball or be on their best behavior during a contract year...the attitude is a much bigger deal to me than the knee and that decision can be made today...you either are going to take the chance hes grows up or not...because the minute he gets caked off everything can change

You obvioulsy take the chance. I'm sick of being stuck in mediocrity with this team.
