kwame started with doug as his coach...no reason to think he'll just now start to get better. he's on the downside of an already zesty career.

i don;t even hate it, i think it's a whatever move as a solid big guy to come off the bench but why draft/sign 100 small forwards and then start none of them?

ice grillin you

doug was a complete ahole then and kwame was still peeing in his bed...not saying that means he will get thru to him now and i would bet he doesnt...but its a completely different time

he will be a fun distraction until jefferson and ibaka?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

im not sure how else to take this

at least lets give doug and them credit for not doing anything this year to hurt themselves from spending big next year. the old sixers would have maxed out brook lopez or something in a sign and trade.

Are they a better team today with the draft picks and signings?

Is an Iggy trade on the horizon?

ice grillin you

they are probably the same team...maybe a slight improvement

but i dont think thats the point....next summer half this roster will be gone and they will be trying to between trade and sign get two huge FA's

they knew they couldnt do much of anything this year and didnt push the issue

this year is all about seeing how much better jreu, et, voy, etc are. also kwame.

There is a common belief among the Philly beat guys that Iguodala will be traded after the Olympics, most likely for expiring contracts and picks. Keeping him and his contract doesn't make sense with the other moves they've made.

I'm fine with keeping him at this point. If they could get a young player and/or picks and expiring contracts I'd be on board, but I wouldn't move him just to move him. He had his best season last year and after this upcoming year becomes an expiring contract. If I'm the Sixers I'm hanging on to him. The Sixers are acknowledging without actually doing so publicly that they're taking two steps back to take one step forward. I hope they finish in the lottery next season and possibly get a top 10 pick. Accumulate as much young talent as you can and maybe lure a few good player or two and they're in business.

Lou and Elton aren't good enough to consider anything they did "two steps back," and that's even if they didn't sign anyone else.

Basically, they are shedding salary and rather than signing mid level players to ridiculous contracts, they're signing filler players to short, cheap deals. It's gotta be so they can attack in the 2013 offseason. I don't think they'll be bad enough for a lottery pick though unless they trade Iggy for picks and/or young players.

This to me is why they are having a good if not great offseason.
