Shady on a pitch would be perfect. Guy has a ton of speed and excels at making people miss. Rolling Vick out or having him make a play is another option. I just don't get trying to force the ball in the middle of the D when the interior of the O-line is awful. And I agree with igy that JJ should go back to being the starter. Maybe he's not as good at sweeps and pulling plays but at least he doesn't get destroyed every other play.

I never really disliked Jackson, I thought he was adequate when in there, never make the pro bowl but he's a big body.

just in case you guys forgot jj was getting blown up as well. I cant tell you how many times he would be riding mcnabbs ass on a 5 step drop.

he just didnt have the consistent strength or skill to stay with the quicker d lineman. I was calling for JJ to be removed for a while, so when he finally was let go I was cool with it...but seeing the way kelce plays...jesus christ... Ill take JJ back in a heartbeat if thats all they got.

ice grillin you

he got abused on passing plays...we are talking about running plays where he was solid versus kelce who is a complete joke

One of the Eagles biggest weakspots running the ball were they could never go up through either A gap side--whether it was 1st or 4th down. We always saw the biggest gains coming off guard or tackle. Westbrook rarely ran it up the middle--not by choice--he just couldnt.

Inconsistency plagues both Jackson and certainly now Kelce.

ice grillin you

jj was inconsistent....kelce cant play....huge difference

size alone would be a vast improvement in the run game...kelce gets blasted backwards on virtually every play...jj has bad feet but he will move people forward when he gets on them in small space

its not even an argument as to who would be better in the run game....eagles have kelce in there because once again they are trying to show the world that they got a player in the 150th round of the draft who is starting

The retarded logic here is that JJ is a better center, but Mudd likes Kelce because he's more mobile. Taking into account that the Center maybe pulls 5-10 times a game it begs the question is it worth having a first year late round pick center as the starter because one facet of his game is better than a guy who is at the very least steady.

General_Failure

Well, when you spend a gazillion dollars in free agency and have your weasel accountant tell everyone you're going "all in," the important thing to do is give the young guys a chance to develop by playing over the veterans who are better right now.

The man. The myth. The legend.

i would also put him in full time....but for sake of argument lets just say they are right about all that....how about in certain situations at least putting jj in...for example at the goal line to help with red zone production

I was having this exact conversation with a friend of mine the other day.  The problem with rotating centers in this type of situation is that

1.  It tells the defense what you're doing.

2.  Rotating centers is an awful idea.  How many times have you seen a center get hurt so his replacement comes in and the snap is botched?  I remember it happening to the Eagles back in 2002 (I think) on opening day vs the Rams.

I'd rather see Jackson in there as well but that just ain't happening unless Kelce gets injured.  You really think Reid is going to admit that his prized offensive line coach made a mistake?

Eagaholic

You guys just don't get it. They are saving JJ for the SB. Duh.

ice grillin you

well i wouldnt rotate id have started jj from game one

but just because you put jackson in doesnt mean you have to run...however if you do at least you have someone that can move people...and really who cares if they know you are running with a yard to go....they think you are anyway....if you cant push forward for a few inches even if the d knows its coming then you dont deserve to participate in the nfl...which is where the eagles are now....at least with jj in the game it gives you a chance to succeed in those situations

Soooo.....it wasnt a pass option on the goal line?

Sgt PSN

This season is just funny at this point.
