not breaking news to say the eagles have never won a super bowl

the concerning part is the recent history....they are and have been on a mostly downward trend since the cardinal nfcc...and right now its not in a good place at all

but to try and portray lurie as some insipid guy who needs to sell or doesn't care about winning is a joke

I know he cares about winning

He has no balls...he lets people like Banner and Howie run his ship. After chips firing he had the chance to clean house and start with s fresh outlook, instead he doubled down on people who haven't worked.

He eventually split with Banner...but his blind spot and weakness for Howie is perplexing.

I like that he stays away from being a meddling owner. Those guys are usually trouble. He will step in once in awhile on personnel decisions but the one time he needed to overrule his people (letting Dawk go) he stood back.

what were the times he has stepped in on a personnel decision

I don't recall off hand but there have been a few when he mentioned that he told his people to get a deal done

He's the complete opposite of s meddling owner which is bad...on one side of the spectrum you have Jerry Jones...on the other side you have Lurie. Lurie needs to fall somewhere in the middle. You run your team the team doesn't run you.

Pat Bowlen who is back in Denver suffering from Alzheimer's is in more in touch with what's going on than Lurie.  I stand corrected as I'm sure he does care about winning as every owner of any sports franchise is and I agree that I don't want a pyscho path like Jerrah or that prick Snyder but I'd like to see and hear a little more from Lurie other than when he hires a new coach and tells us how great things are and disappears until the next chapter begins.  1 for 5 in NFCG under this clown?  I'm so proud.

The last 4 or 5 years of Lurie are far more concerning than the previous 15.  You really can't lay much blame at his feet for the team being choke artists in 4 out of 5 NFCCGs.  Even with the deficiencies those teams had, they were certainly good enough to beat Carolina and Tampa at home, and probably should have beat Zona. But still...those games were on the coaches and players.

Lurie really didn't start raising eyebrows until he replaced Banner with Roseman, then replaced Roseman with Chip, and then back to Roseman. His handling of the FO and HC choices in recent years are what Lure should be called out on, not when they went to 5 Conf Championships in 8 years.

Rome

He sucked and literally anyone they replace him with would be better simply because he was persona non grata in that locker room.
