Shady was also critiqued on the way he carried (still does) his first few games. I thought he would be a turnover machine but seemed to hold up till at least this season.

Here's what has to happen for the Eagles to reach the playoffs (and host a home game):

• They have to win their last four games, against the Buccaneers, Bengals, taterskins and Giants.

• The Giants have to lose their last four games, against the Saints, Falcons, Ravens and Eagles.

• The Cowboys have to lose their next four games – against the Bengals, Steelers, Saints and taterskins.

• The taterskins have to lose their next three games, against the Ravens, Browns and Eagles, and then beat the Cowboys on the last day of the season.

If all that happens, the Giants, Eagles and taterskins would all finish in a three-way tie at 7-9, and the Cowboys would finish 6-10.

In the event of a three-way tie for first among teams in the same division, the first tiebreaker is common record among the three teams.

And if all that happens ... the Eagles would be 3-1, sweeping the Giants and splitting with the taterskins; the taterskins would be 2-2 (splitting with the Eagles and the Giants); and the Giants would be 1-3 (losing twice to the Eagles and splitting with the taterskins).

So in that event, the Eagles would win the division and be the No. 4 seed, facing the top wild-card team at the Linc in Nick Foles' playoff debut.
