The man. The myth. The legend.

ice grillin you

jaws on nick saban....

Quote"I'm not a  Saban guy because I don't like liars and I think he lied. I think he lied to the Miami Dolphins and the fans of Miami and he left. And I think it's pretty simple — I think integrity is very important. If you don't have integrity I don't know how you can be successful. Yeah, I know he's great at Alabama and he'll probably win another national championship but I just don't like people that don't have integrity, so it's pretty easy for me to say that I don't want Nick Saban in town."

I was listening to Mike Miss talk about this either on Thur or Fri.  He was more or less saying that the whole "integrity" thing is overblown and is all about getting Saban if Saban actually had the desire to come back to the NFL.

I say no thanks.  It his nothing to do with integrity or anything like that, I just don't think he'd make a great NFL head coach.  The successful college coaches aren't winning games because they're excellent strategists and vastly more intelligent than their counterparts, they're successful because they're the best recruiters.  Not saying that Saban is football stupid,  but I don't think his teams wow you with their game plan either.  He gets the best oline and dline in the country each year and just beats the living piss out of you at the los.

Saban's an icehole, sure, but that plan doesn't sound too bad to me, especially after a decade and a half of Andy Reid's smartest guy in the room picks.

Sgt PSN

If Saban could hand pick his oline and dline in the NFL like he could in college, I'd have a much different opinion of him in the NFL.

Go read what an insufferable icehole he is to support staff and players. Unless he's softened up his style isn't made for the NFL.

No.

It's moot anyway because he's not going anywhere.  Why would he?  He's a tin god in Tuscaloosa.

Oh, I agree.  I really don't even know why anyone started talking about it (him coaching the Eagles) in the first place because it's highly unlikely that he ever leaves Bama other than to retire.

basically...

Saban's style works in college.  He seems to scare the shtein out of his players, & everyone stays in line and buys into the system because of his success and personality.  That isn't as easy to pull off in the NFL.

SD

There's not a college coach out there I want. Give me a hungry coordinator who knows the ins and outs of the NFL.

We're getting Chip Kelly and there's nothing we can do about it.

Whatever QB is lining up behind that sack-o-shtein line.

Reid's son had roids in his room along with the H.

QuoteHe acknowledged the quantity found could have been intended for distribution, "but what I'm saying is I have no evidence of that, that there was any distribution by Mr. Reid, either here or anywhere else."
