starting for a franchise for a long time doesnt make you a franchise qb...the term is so overused...at any one time theres only 2-3 franchise qb's in the nfl and trust me the bedwetter was not one of them....its an insult to true franchise qb's to call that loser a franchise qb

I don't think the rest of the team has been Foles' only problem though. I remember in preseason he looked good but had the same near miss ints he was lucky not to give up from staring down his wr. The accuracy problems I think are more likely attributable to the line though. True a lot of great QBs had a bad first 1 or 2 years so who knows. I could see him being good or being a turnover machine if he can't progress.

His problems are the typical rookie QB problems. Maybe he can learn to overcome them, probably he can't. You can't write him off but the Eagles need someone else to be the starter next year.

Rome

4300 yards, 28 td's and a shade under 70% comp. percentage in his senior year.

That's not chicken feed especially considering he was playing at Arizona who were otherwise awful.

you convienantly left out like 15 interceptions

stats mean jack shtein tho as far as a player transferring from college to pro

McNabb was a franchise QB, but the years in which he was a good franchise QB who was a legit NFL star were confined to the first half of the decade. That was the window during which Super Bowls could have been won, but the team (and McNabb) blew it. I know statistically there wasn't a huge difference between the early and late 2000s, but we all watched the games. His last years with the Eagles, he wasn't Brady Quinn, but he was a mediocre QB who was replaceable.

It's also hardly relevant now in 2012. The Birds need a new QB. What this has to do with McNabb I have no idea.

Its easy. When he was here, on those years of being a "good" franchise QB there was a faction of the fanbase who wanted him gone and did not appreciate him as a QB. Like it was so easy to find a franchise guy. I am just pointing that out - the fact that people wanted a true franchise guy replaced and now the team needs a franchise guy and there is a ton of hand wringing as to what will happen. Well all of the geniuses who thought it was so easy to replace and find a franchise guy - lets hear the plan.

On another topic...

Jake Long is set to be a FA after this year. He's, according to experts, regressed from his first couple years...but Miami is apparently not going to franchise him because of how high that cost would be.

Colt Anderson is starting at safety....jesus.

And Nate Menkin has a throat cartilage tear. Ouch.

Mike Patterson in the hospital with viral pneumonia

hbionic

I'll finally get to see Colt Anderson. Apparently he's been on the team for 3 seasons now.

If I were Andy I'd go to Lurie at the end of the season and say, 'Dude, Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen. Seriously? You need to give me another year'
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05
