Random Eagles Information Still Not Worthy of a New Thread

QB Eagles

Randall was not always loved by Eagles fans (and sometimes rightly so), but after he left his stature only increased, because of the kind of person he is and the indelible memories he made while he was on the Eagles.

McNabb on the other hand was a superior QB in most respects, and the team reached heights never approached during the Buddy era. But since he left his reputation has only dwindled, also because of the kind of person he is and the indelible memories he made while he was on the Eagles.

McNabb could be beloved today. He has no one to blame but himself for that not happening. It's rare for Philly fans to be as cold toward a guy who was as good as McNabb for a lot of years. Even Lindros was largely rehabilitated in a way that seems unimaginable for McNabb at this point.

Honestly if he never did the air guitar thing during that one Dallas game I might still like him.

I still remember exactly which bar I was in when that happened and I rarely remember random game moments from that time period.

Dawkins had a golf outing a few weeks back and a lot of members from those teams (Kearse/Hugh/Hollis etc) were there. They all did interviews on the fanatic. Before they interviewed Mcnabb they played the "#5 will always love you" drop...99% of people would have just laughed but Mcnabb just had to be a bitchass and make a butthurt comment because they "went there". I ignored his cornball personality most of his career but the passive whining woe is me catching feelings for every little thing shtein is pathetic and that shtein ain't passing in Philly. Maybe he wins that Super Bowl it slides.

donovan is just insufferable...id almost rather be around maga than him. like if he was just a dork it be fine but he seems like just a drag to be near.

not to mention, yea he had some good years and everything. but - he routinely came up small in playoff games and never elevated his play in big moments, most of the time in fact wetting his pants or outright quitting. on top of that - he washed out of the league in his early 30's. most qbs play well into their late 30's. he didnt take care of himself, at all.

i came up with mcnabb defense superbowl when i was like 12 and here am i 20+ years later what the farg
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

My original moniker was SD_Eagle5. When I created that in 2000 we were all in on the Donnie train

oh man I was a huge chugger of the bed wetter.  My first post here after they lost to Panthers in 2003 NFCG I compared Donald to Elway saying he'll eventually win two Super Bowls.  Someone must have slipped me some zoomers in my depression after watching Jake Delhome and Ricky Manning beat their ass.

To be fair, he might have actually done that if he'd had more talented receivers in those early years, Brady and Manning didn't exist, and he could complete more than 58% of his passes.

The man. The myth. The legend.

If that was the only knock on him absolutely no one would care.

He washed out early for a HOF QB, but early 30s is not at all unusual for a good-not-great QB. You look at the other Pro Bowl non-HOF level guys in his era like Culpepper and Bledsoe and Bulger and McNair, mostly they didn't last any longer than he did. Cam Newton seems to be going through that now. The fact that anyone can play this violent sport into their late 30s and beyond is freakish and really can't be expected to be the norm. We have no way of knowing if Mahomes or Allen or Herbert or any other young QB will last that long.

Based purely on on-field stuff there's no reason 5 shouldn't be remembered more fondly than Jaworski and Cunningham. He never will be, because he's an arrogant icehole who overrated himself and constantly made passive aggressive statements about the team, his teammates, and not being appreciated enough by the fans. He couldn't hide his corrosive personality. Being a cringe level cornball didn't help, but I think if people felt that stuff came from a place of innocence people could look past it. There have been other corny guys, but combined with being a fleshpop it's a brutal look.

cam was never a good pocket passer, his body broke down. and he in fact won an mvp while mcnabb never did. anyway, i thought about this:

donny - washed out at 35, last respectable season at 34 (man that was quick)
kerry collins - 39, 36
matt hasselbeck - 40, 36
trent green - 38, 35
culpepper - 32, 27 (body broke mad early)
garcia - 39, 37
mcnair - 34, 33 (and then farged the wrong bitch)
bulger - 32, 31

so 5 is somewhere in the middle here

lol you guys are nuts.  no one would put anyone on that list above mcnabb's career other than the 6 people on this board.

air guitar worse than all that shtein.

The stomping back and forth avoiding talking to TO was nearly as bad.  I mean TO has the intellect and emotional maturity of a 12 year-old.  All Donnie had to do was sit down with him and let him rant until he tired himself out.  But nope.  I wasn't a fan of his before that and He lost me entirely then.

The air guitar shtein was just sad and pitiful.

I don't think McNabb Defense Stupid is saying that half those dudes had better careers...he's saying that half of them dropped off a cliff sooner, and half later, than 5 did?
