Nah, too long until they play.  The shtein will hit the fan way before that.

mcglynn can have the brains of john nash all he wants, it still wont help the fact that he'll get bulldozed over 3/4 of the time

Pretty sure Nash never had the nickname "Big Stupid".

I didn't read through the Jax thread but anyone else notice a huge shift in pass protection once Cole was pulled from the game? I know Wells got a holding penalty but he was solid for the most part.

Seabiscuit36

Cole was trying to play on one leg, not exactly good for an average O Lineman.

you wont have to worry about him because hes out this game anyway

its completly overlooked because of vick being so awesome but the macklin touchdown right before the half was 1000% on the offensive line....vick made a sick throw but he had forever to and because of that there was just no way someone wasnt going to be wide open at some point...you just cant stay with wr's that long

They did an alright job protecting that play, but there were 8 guys in to block and only 2 running routes.

ice grillin you

they kept guys in because they recognized the blitz...and they did a phenominal job on that play not just alright

if you are gonna rip them when they suck you have to credit when they are great

reggie wells seemed to be an upgrade at rg.  justice was getting destroyed by Kampman though.

Watch the play.  Vick threw it just before he got nailed.  Good enough protection, obviously, but it better be with 8 guys in.  Are you saying that you think McGlynn told the backs to stay in to block?  Because the coaches pretty much admitted that max protect was dialed up from the sideline.

Plus, I was defending the line (sans Nick "stubby" Cole) compared to most people, and the Jags are generally thought to have one of the worst front sevens in the NFL.  So, simmer down now.

he had almost six seconds to throw the ball...that an eternity regardless of how many guys you keep in...they have kept in extra men this year and given up sacks and as they have been deservedly ripped for those...so when they do the exact opposite they deserve a ton of credit....the oline made that play happen...vick was able to progress from sideline to sideline  from the pocket and make a play

Fine, mad props.  Reggie Wells is better than Nick Cole also.  I like cheese.

the line did some ok work, but that wouldnt be the best play to hype up the o-line. the jags def only came came with 3 down on a delayed blitz by the lb's, not to mention like ff said vick was in shotgun with 2 rb's to block. he better have 6 sec to throw.

had vick been under center and the lb's blitzed off the snap, those 6 sec would of been more impressive no matter the protection scheme

smeags

the o-line did what they should've on that play, against a weak pass rush. there, i praised them.

now can we get back to the fact that this line still has a ton of issues ?

Let's see how this line handles Orarkpo.  McGlynn has been fine and I think he will get better with more experience.
