Nabokov is worse than leights in the playoffs.  Crumbles under the pressure and they'll overpay

His playoff stats are very similar to his regular season stats, the Sharks as a team don't play well in the playoffs. He's better than Leighton and really what better options were out there? I don't mind him as the starter with Leighton as the back up, then groom a young goalie for the future. My first preference is Bernier but that apparently isn't going to happen.

i dont see Nabakov as the answer, he's never stepped up after the regular season.  Cant wait to see the mess of a contract that your boy Holmgren signs him to.

couldnt have really gotten raped even in terms of the contract because they dont have enough money to get raped...hence the reason hes not coming here

They have around $11 million under the cap. I think both Hamhuis with the Pens and Nabokov with the Flyers both hit free agency then find out they're not worth nearly as much as they thought, especially in Nabokov's case. There's only a few teams that need a starter and there are a ton of 35 year old goalies out there, it's a buyers market.

He won't get more than 5 mil per year and could very well only get like 4.5. Not many suitors for him at all according to sources.

ha, i figured they'd grab him in the 4th, at least Luukko walked out on the selection, he didnt want to take shtein for the pick.  Speaking of the draft, the Ducks got lucky as hell with Cam Fowler falling to them, then getting Emerson Etem with the Pronger pick.  The Rangers took a Dman Dylan Mcilrath instead fo Fowler, could be another colossal fargup by the rags
