I'll be sitting in a beach chair drinking beer & cramming chicken wings in my face at the game in Jax.

I know you all care, but 2 5ks under my belt and I run my first 10k race this weekend.

That one that goes over and back on the Ben Franklin Bridge...and ends in Campbell's Field...where everyone that crosses the finish line is up on the Jumbotron lol.

I am not quite sure what I've gotten myself into here.....

There's going to be quite a bit of empty screen when you cross

I ran that last year, and other than having to actually go into jersey, and fact that it's half uphill, and the insane pounding you take on the constant downhill, it's an "ok" race.

Or maybe it's excruciating and i wouldn't ever recommend that race to anyone who has any knee issues.

Way to shtein on my parade, there Charlie.

I actually loved the race, if that means anything. It's actually easier to run a flat 10 miler than this 10k though.

But if you are prone to knee problems, load up on the glucosamine.

My goal was to do the 6.35 miles in 1:03.

I did it in 1:02:47!!!

No stopping at all. Ran the whole thing. I feel like I might never walk again lol...but I farging did it!

yes!

I had a bacon double cheeseburger and large fries from 5 Guys. Chain or not the greatness of that place is unsurpassed. My ass hasn't left the couch (other than to piss) since the Sixers game started.

Doing a few more 5ks and 10ks in the next few months, if I can find any good ones.

Then:

5/11 - Broad Street Run (10 miles)
9/11 - ING half marathon
11/11 - Philly half marathon

Addiction. This whole thing has become a crazy addiction. LOVE it.

You just missed this one but I highly recommend doing it next year when it comes back to your area.

Yup, a few of my friends sent me that link earlier in the summer to try to get me to do it, but I was not sure I'd be ready for something like that and I was not. But it looks like a ton of fun
