Anyone here done this? I know a few who have (including my sister) who have done it, never been a runner before...and are now avid runners.

If you've done it, how was it for you?

I just started and will be doing day 3 tomorrow.

Funny you brought this up - I've been doing the same thinking.  My fat ass will probably die before I complete a 5K, but I'm going to give it a shot.

My son (11) wants to run in the July 4th 5K.  I asked him if he wanted me to run with him?  He asked - "You think you can keep up?"  Of course the answer is no, but the little bastich challenged me. 
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

They have 2 versions of it. One is a 9 week program and then there is a longer one if you're overweight (not saying you are, but if you are, it helps to know)

What is 5K? 3 miles or so? Do you need 9 weeks to be able to run 3 miles? Jesus christ.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Unless you are enormously-overweight/injured/crippled/dead it shouldn't take your body more than a couple of weeks of running every day to be able to simply keep your legs moving for 3 miles. I'm not talking about 'racing' mind you, but your body doesn't need two months of running every day to get acclimated to the act of moving your legs for 3 miles.

It's science and I'm a doctor.

I am not overweight and I can't run more than 3 minutes without needing to stop.
