It is.  Even my g/f did it earlier this year with absolutely no training for it.  She sucked wind and had an awful final time but she still had fun.

I think it fell into the category of, "I don't want to do it until I know I wont' drop dead from physical activity". I was mid-C25k training at that point I think, hadn't even gotten to the Bridge? I can't remember.

I'm so up for it next year though!

Doing a few more 5ks and 10ks in the next few months, if I can find any good ones.

Then:

5/11 - Broad Street Run (10 miles)
9/11 - ING half marathon
11/11 - Philly half marathon

Addiction. This whole thing has become a crazy addiction. LOVE it.

Check out the King of Prussia 10 Miler... usually in June.

I'm already registered for the ING half... let's tailgate at 4am. Broad St registration is open in January, and it sells out FAST, i'll be doing that too.

the ing half, and philly half areb basically the same course. so it gets boring.

I don't run unless I'm being chased.

With that being said, what motivated you to start running? I lift weights and do cardio to stay fit and to try to look decent. But I never understood the motivation behind running long distances. Is it the simple case of conquering a challenge?

I hate running but I do it because it helps when I do other shtein (lacrosse, lifting, farging around with football or soccer, humping your sisters, etc). Really though, I agree. Running is the farging worst.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I stopped smoking about 4 years back or so, and i started running to avoid any weight gain.

I hate the gym, i hate lifting weights. I love running outside. I can go at 4am or 10pm, doesn't matter. It's the only kind of workout i can fit into a schedule. I probably run 20-30 miles a week. I don't really keep track anymore. Running competitively makes it fun.

i guess that's what it's about, finding something you like and will "stick to" as a workout program. i like running but can't do it unless i am on grass. if i run on a hard surface or treadmill my shins feel like the are on fire in no time.

lol

Running is simply not even an option for me right now.  So many medical issues going on with damn near every joint in my body.  I've always loved going on formation runs with my platoon or company but just couldn't get into running distance by myself.  I did it anyway because I needed to stay in shape, and like rjs, it was good conditioning for all of the other sports I liked playing.
