Lee Evans is someone you get in Madden when it doesn't matter who the farg your receivers are.

Evans is a good player, but if the Eagles are 'serious' about getting a WR (which I doubt) and Boldin is available, there is NO excuse, especially with 2 1st rounders to not get him.  Grabbing Lee Evans as a consolation price if Boldin is actually available is not acceptable.

see there is an excuse... because if you think the Eagles would give up a 1st, 3rd and 6th for Boldin like Dallas did for Roy Williams, I have some ocean front property in Wyoming with your name on it

Eagles await Weaver's decision

Free-agent fullback Leonard Weaver is close to deciding where he'll sign.

"We are talking and hope to work something out in the very near future with one of the teams that is interested in Leonard," Weaver's agent, Harold Lewis, wrote yesterday via e-mail.

Lewis said several teams were interested in Weaver, but the only one he mentioned besides the Eagles was the Seattle Seahawks, for whom Weaver played during his first four NFL seasons.

Weaver, 26, spoke with ESPN 950 radio Wednesday night and said he would like to sign with the Eagles. An Eagles source said earlier in the week that the team was interested in the versatile fullback.

The Eagles could want Weaver to sign a short-term deal similar to the ones recently signed by free-agent safeties Sean Jones and Rashad Baker. Jones and Baker each signed for one year, but the Eagles may be willing to give Weaver a two-year deal.

Seems like the FO is waiting on Boldin before they make a move on anyone else. I don't see how delaying a FB decision impacts their move on getting Boldin.

Matt Mosley's review of our offeseason thus far.  Last in the division.

This may seem harsh to some of you, but is there anything that excites you about what the Eagles have accomplished so far? Stacy Andrews can replace Jon Runyan at right tackle, but this still leaves a gaping hole on the left side. The Eagles could package their two first-round picks and move up to draft someone like Jason Smith of Baylor, but that's not Andy Reid's style -- at least not lately. It's more likely they trade down and acquire some additional picks.

Sean Jones is a serviceable replacement for Brian Dawkins, but the one-year deal tells you that the organization doesn't have a ton of faith in the guy. Former Raiders safety Rashad Baker is more of a special-teams guy.

But if the Eagles are biding their time to make a run at Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin, all can be forgiven. They probably would have to part with one of their first-round picks and possibly a third-rounder. Does that seem like the type of thing Reid and Joe Banner would do? Right now, Donovan McNabb's scratching his head like the rest of us.
