I didn't even mind the pick as much as I did the fact they traded down out of the first round with Dallas.

That's not quite it for me. I didn't mind the pick if McNabb was going to be let go and Kolb was the future. If he isn't the future and the team gave Dallas an extra first rounder it's frigging infuriating.

Whatever. Keeping McNabb and having a competent backup is not such a bad scenario. Firing Reid would make the whole situation better.

Agree with all of this, except I never thought letting McNabb go was reasonable to begin with.

I especially agree with the last part of your post.

The spin on Kolb as a permanent backup is hilarious.  Anyway, I don't even want him stepping in if McNabb goes down right now.  Feeley is the better option until proven otherwise.

Reid & Banner probably ordered the media machine to start the poor-mouthing of Kolb now to pacify McNabb's tender ego.  I mean, if McNabb really is going to stick around for another four or five years, he's going to need a new deal soon, right?  You can't continue pushing Kolb as the future of the franchise if the future is still five years away.

Whatever, though.  It still sticks in my crawl that they traded with Dallas of all teams, and like rjs said, if they traded out with the intent of improving the team and getting a franchise QB, I'm less homicidal about it.  I doubt that's the case, however.  This team just doesn't get that lucky.

ok even if its not spin, that fact that a team with plenty of weaknesses and holes wasted a 2nd round pick on a career backup qb is laughable. farg that fat icehole.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

1. Interesting to hear that from Reid about the backups. I guess he does have a point because it had become a rotational thing for awhile. But it still angers me that they drafted Kolb where they did. Take him (or someone like him) in the 3rd or 4th? Fine. But I am happy to hear that about keeping McNabb. But more than likely it is just spin.

2. Trading with Dallas doesn't bother me. I can't understand why it would. I'm not like igy and don't understand why the Eagles fans hate Dallas, because I do hate those fargers. But trading with them doesn't matter to me.

3. Rome....prior to McNabb blowing his knee out they were talking new deal. Obviously that put the kibosh on any extension, but my guess is now that they see he's much better perhaps they're thinking about it. I hope hope hope they extend him.

Donovan still missed T.O.

Why does he refuse to embrace his mobility?

rjs's dog was definitely in danger of getting a size 10 boot in his ass after they drafted Kolb.

You have tiny feet. You must be shorter than PG.

because andy doesnt want him to move

ike reese told an interesting story yesterday about how andy used to tell donovan that it was worse off for his offense if he left the pocket because the entire offense is predicated on timing and when donovan took off it shut down the whole play

Christ, and I didn't even need another reason to hate Andy Reid

ice grillin you

the scary thing about that is not that andy was potentially limiting what donovan can do but that it points out andy never having good wr's and makes it as obvious as ever that the reason he doesnt get playmakers is because he truly belives his offense is more important than the players in it...that his scheme is the playmaker
