Is there any chance that the Sixers can package some of the picks that they have?

If they can't Law is the guy I would love to see them draft.

He'll probably be the #1 pick next year
Hibbert? Hell no. Almost no chance. Beasley, Mayo, Rose, are going to be the Oden - Durant - Wright of next year, only with a bit less star power. Then throw in Batum, Gordon, Arthur, etc and Hibbert lasts to the end of the lottery.

igy, Belinelli had an awful year in Italy. I like him and it would be farging awesome to draft him as a PG, but not with a lotto pick. I'd be fine with him at 21 though.

At this point I want Thornton at 12.

ice grillin you

who said lotto pick youd have to be insane to take him there?

i also dont agree hes a point guard...hes a long way away but he has the potential to be a ginobli with an even better shot

totally agree on hibbert no ways hes a number one pick...and going back to gtown is a huge mistake...the hoyas got a ton of gunners on that team that will be coming into their own next year...including freshamn guard named chris wright whos gonna take 25 shots a game if he can get away with it

I disagree.  No chance he goes lower than top 3 next year, assuming he doesn't get hurt.

they get ausin freeman next year too.  who knows, lots of shots for the other guys might mean mad rebounds and points for hibbert in the middle.

Considering you start talking about it right after the lottery, I assumed that's what you were talking about.

I know Belinelli wouldnt be a true PG, but he has a good handle and I'd rather have a 6'5 sharp shooting PG with Iguodala and Carney (in the future) rather than scrub - Belinelli - Iguodala.

Hibbert is a good player, but there are players with loads of more potential than him. His "athletic" ability is going to hold him back as a prospect, regardless of how much it didnt matter when he played. You've got guys in 08 that are being compared to studs like Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Joe Johnson, etc. On top of being great players, these guys have all the athletic ability in the world. Of course none of this matters if Hibbert stays in the 07 draft, because no one really knows yet.

im thinking

1 - law
2 - bellini
3 - iguodala

i just dont see bellini ever being a pg...like i said i see him as ginobli with a better shot...making him a true two rather than a small slasher three

i realize we are way ahead of ourselves and bellini might be a total bust much less become a starter...im speaking in terms of if they all develop and play to their maximum potential

One thing I dont like about Belinelli is his shot selection. I saw a couple of Italy games in the FIBA Championships, he takes absolutely some awful shots. Some of it has to do with the fact that his team isn't good and he needs to be the one to score. He's a great shooter, but not when he has 3 guys in his face.

Phil Jasner said on DNL yesterday that the Sixers don't like Hawes.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

Thad Young is probably going to shoot up the draft charts soon enough.  I'd like him at 12.  He's the only one whose going to be around at 12 with superstar potential.  Before the season, he has rated above durant by some.

Wrong thread.

I wouldn't mind Thaddeus. I wouldn't be thrilled with it, but there are far worse options.

Considering there aren't good big men (except Hawes, which is debatable) going to be available at 12, would anyone be completely against Javaris Crittenton there? The best guys left at 12 (aside from Crittenton) are going to be guys like Thornton and Thad Young . They are both mainly a 3 which the Sixers dont need. There's no point in reaching for a big man at 12 because there's no difference in what you'll get at 12 opposed to 21. Crittenton needs polishing and definitely could use a year or two under Miller, and he could turn out to be a real stud. I saw a number of his games this year and never came away super impressed, but those were against the best teams in the nation. I looked up his stats and he was much better than I thought people gave him credit for. 14.4 points, 5.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 31 minutes is real solid, especially in the ACC. The only thing he seems to have a problem with is turnovers, where he almost average four a game, which is way too high. Most of his high turnover games either came against the best defenses (Memphis, UNC) or when he played 36+ minutes, which is excusable to a point as a freshman. I really wouldn't mind him at 12.
